By reading novels you get immersed into different mindsets, views on the world, and you get to be fully in with your emotions sometimes. And now the most important part:

So you don't like art? Remember, literature is a form of art, too! I used to be a crass young angry guy myself until I started reading fiction. It’s actually scientifically proven to help build empathy.

Instead of acting out to get attention, try focusing on making the world a little brighter. You’ll find that you not only get more positive attention, but you'll feel much better, too. Fiction is a great way to start realizing that. Also it's ironic because non-fiction is another way to realize that. Where does Tony Robbins suggest to shit on other peoples' interests? Nowhere! Tony Robbins specifically suggests to make the world a better place and build others up.
