I met him & the whole family once as they were staying in the same campsite as mine. He came across as so lovely and chill - not who you see at all on the screens. Crazy to think how far things have spun since then. 

I bet Russell is a pretty decent person today. The problem is that he was not a decent person 25 years ago.

She fell in love with him as he is today. Can't fault her for that.

In what way was he green at all whatsover? Seems like he was using his us against the people spiel to empower himself in a stage orange way and didn't really deeply embody stage green values at all let alone stage yellow.

true … she’s gonna have a hard time explaining to their girls why daddy’s been accused of so many bad things - they’re already 9 and 11. Not that much younger than the 16 year old. And their little son has DiGeorge syndrome. I think they just have to get on with things…. Perhaps the Christian thing is helping them to stay focussed.

So many ways. He talks like a Green person all the time. He's into that New Age Green spirituality and politics. At least he was before this Christian/right-wing phase.

Russell has been ranting against the evils of capitalism for a long time. He's not some stupid conservative. He understands many left-wing issues and causes. His recent changes are just him surviving against the rape allegations. In a sense his old Green self was more honest before the survival pressure-cooker cornered him like a rat.

A cornered rat regresses to lower stages to defend itself.

That's what I see Russell doing. But he still has much Green in him.
