It is one thing to say we need to be more conscious of what behaviour points to a potentially bad mate. And another to blame the victim. The line of responsibility needs to be expounded upon clearer imo. Because women & men are responsible for actions they take. But the consequences and outcomes aren't guaranteed or deserved (in this case, abuse isn't guaranteed when someone appears Machiavellian/dark triad).

I see it like drunk driving. You are responsible for a crash because it is to be expected that you wont drive well intoxicated. But the alcohol also has autonomy in this situation. I see your point. But also even if the alcohol has autonomy, when the bottle clearly has dark triad printed on it you take a risk. This is pretty complicated.

I think responsibility comes down to who has power. And women do have a lot of choosing power, so thats their part of the responsibility.

Moreover, men also pick toxic women. Beauty blinds us to red flags. Like women, men need to become aware of their bias to avoid abuse from women.

Both sexes do the same thing in different domains.

If you read my post carefully, I am not disagreeing with the argument in question. Merely pointing out the wordying could be cleaner.

One doesn't need to reduce their own integrity in this way, as it isn't the only way to attract women. In fact - you will avoid attracting a women with attachment issues and pathologies if you do avoid this.

Not saying there aren't a subset of women who are attracted to dark triad traits.

Yeah its true that dark triad traits attract not the highest quality girls but also some kind of power display is required for basically every girl. I dont know a girl who is attracted to Mr. Nice Guy who wouldnt hurt a fly. I hope I am proven wrong some day though. This is a deep struggle of being a men btw. , keep up with the bad men in power (confidence, competence) but then not use that power in a bad way.

This is interesting.

Responsibility is not the same as blame. You could be blameless and still be responsible. Americans are responsible for Trump even if they didn't vote for him. If women have a responsibility for not falling for monsters than that's just their dharma. It's not hard at all to find beautiful women hanging out with scum.
