What do you do when you get good ideas in meditation?

6 posts in this topic

Usually when I meditate I get some creative or useful insights that are not necessarily spiritual in nature. For example songs, some problem you've been working in your life, understanding of a concept. What do you guys do? Do you ignore them and continue to meditate as normal, do you write those insights?

Granted, some of these insights get in your mind and if you don't take note of them they are gone forever(like a insightful dream you will never remember) . This is part of the let go proccess right? -- even if good ideas come to you you let them go away.

Write them down after you meditate . Obviously don’t stop your meditation every minute to write something.

sometimes the fastest way to do something is the slowest. if you have to find your car keys to rush to work cause you’re late you might mess some Coffe on your suit .. you can find them if you slow search for them.

Yeah, that's obvious but what I said above is that sometimes if you don't write immediately that insight is lost forever.

How long do you meditate each session? And do you have such short memory? Can’t you meditate in times when the mind is naturally less active like first thing in the morning or before sleeping ?

It depends, some sessions is short others long, but I try doing more than one session a day, at least 2 or more.

Not at all, I have very good memory. But, like I said some insights are like dreams, even if you have good memory you are bound to forget most dreams.

@Eskilon It’s a non issue . The mind is trying to survive by thinking creatively when you try to silence it .

good luck.
