I hate them as a woman - and they do not have the desensitization effect on me. 

But having to stop, go get the condom, put it on. Sigh. Fucken' romance and rhythm killer.

In addition - even the idea in my head my man isn't going to experience the act of sex in the most intimate way possible detracts for me.

The only way around this has been regular testing of both partners, monogamy, and some other form of birth control.
