Stunning Chinese Robot DEMO

10 posts in this topic

This is beautiful. The way they auto-correct their movements... insane.

If you have good mindfulness skills, catching every little movement will fill you with a sense of awe.

My mouth hung open for the whole thing.

This begs the question...

Will robots really take over the world?

I have yet to see a robot interact with reality.

Looks cool tho

But basically a balance show off.

All these robot demos seem like, look how well we can balance metal stacked together that looks like a human.

This is like 100 to 1000 to 2000 years away from taking over the world they cant even think or make decisions. Its pre programming.

if the robot was programmed to pick up a gun and aim it, if the gun was 1 foot to the right it would fail, if it picked up the gun and aimed it if a person moved 1 foot to the right it would fail. If it accidentally dropped the gun it would not know what to do because its not making decisions its following steps in code like any other robot. We are not any closer to robots making decisions and taking over the world as we were at the beginning or robotics.

If anything these videos should make your jaw drop at the complexity of a human not a robot.

These things would all fail in 2 minutes at war. They would run out the gate fall over and get back up and fall over and get back up in an inifnite loop because the surfaces are not perfect. You could just make their feet slippery and win the war.

This is smoke and mirrors.

Imagine a squadron of robots with guns one falls over. It does a ninja kick to get back up and knocks two others over in the process they ninja kick and knock 2 more over in the process. They cant get up because they are all meshed together now. Things like this happen in every single scenario of life and you cant program around this.

They have 0 intelligence.

This is why they show them off in these demonstrations only, and not actually doing stuff irl. Because they would fail the demonstration before it even began.

Its closer to a printer than it is to a human in intelligence.

Something interesting I thought about is, if humans preprogrammed a war with robots, they programmed every single robot individually to do things in a specific order on each side of the battle. Thats kinda like God.

Fun fact, when he was younger, the nickname of the german chancellor was "Fotzen-Fritz" which means something like "Coochey-Fritz".

Fucking hate that guy. Super corrupt.

I wish we had someone like Xi

Let the West, Russia, and the Middle East exhaust themselves fighting; then we’ll see Chinese robots break-dancing in our streets. Time to start learning Mandarin, perhaps? 🤖

The only country that is aggressively shoving its values and "culture" down others throats is the US.

China mainly cares about providing for its citizens and doing trade responsibly. They have no interest in turning everyone chinese.

(I'm aware that you meant it is a joke but I assume it is a "hahah there is truth to it hahah"-joke and I'm attacking this supposed truth)

I often have a very cynical view of the world at large, and part of that cynicism reflects onto geopolitics, so my "joke" has its roots in that cynicism. But you do have a point that China has had very limited incursions into foreign territory during its extraordinarily long history; mostly just to influence her neighbors and maintain control over them. The majority of conflicts happened within China itself, and they were either civil wars or cases of European/Asian imperialists attacking China. So yeah, maybe I’m just engaging in that "if we do it, they must do it too" type of thinking. Maybe it’s just Western people who are fucked up idk

There is no real need to learn foreign languages anymore outside of interesting and hobby. Real time live translation is starting to become excellent.

I'm ready for the robot era I think it'll change the world for the better. After everything unfolding in the US I'm also no longer really concerned about chinese imperialism. It seems their way to spread over the world is about internal consolidation and state stability instead of moral superiority masking great degeneracy. The epstein files gave me great hope for world peace as it completely destroyed the aura of superiority of the western system in my view. We are now exposed as a globally totally flawed species and only advancements in politics and technology can save us.

I like how one of the robots almost fell, and then on the next move, it fell. Was it programmed into it (to demonstrate how it could get up and do it with style) or was it a design flaw or something else (e.g. part of the overall show to make it seem more human; some are more clumsy than others)?

Their combat ability is already lethal, it's over for humans on battlefields.
