Actually, if you think you're at his level, what are you even doing? It's safe to say that nobody currently alive is.

I don't claim to be at his level. But plenty of things he says are false. It took me a lot of work to figure that out.

He is both very advanced but also too insulated from other perspectives on spirituality, as if only his view is the only one.

I thought you considered yourself more conscious than Ralston?

Or do you have different strengths?

What is this?

That's the only question

As if he were talking from a perspective.

Your claim rests on the assumption that you understand what he's getting across. Not likely.

Why would it be unlikely? Do you have an example? I don't know much about him, so I am curious.

@Natasha Tori Maru Not true, just ask him.

He does mention states a lot. What is he referencing states in relation to?

He is not above perspective.

Be careful idolizing him. It will limit you if you take him too seriously.

I actually agree with this.

Through my own experience.

@UnbornTao I think you often put to much stock in Ralston. I might say this because I rarely see you deviating into any critical analysis of his work, just mutual agreement or pointing. Which is all well and good. But sometimes it looks like proselytizing.

As an example, I don't think Ralston has grasped Love.

I don't think I'd be able to lay that out meaningfully. Too involved a question. Why not ask him?

For example, if I recall correctly, virtually no one makes the distinction of "consciousness" that he does. I'd imagine the way everyone holds that is as cognition or some such. Which might explain the psychedelic thingy.

I'm sorry to interrupt this serious exchange with WHAT the fuck is this?:

I was searching up a Jan Esmann video on love and I got this abomination 😭

But the truth is, and it is not a perspective, otherwise what's the fucking point?

I don't mind, I can put distance between teachers. But you think he's just sharing opinions or something.

Why not ask him directly?

There's a lot to be grasped. Paying attention is needed. The problem is thinking you already get it.

I know this sounds harsh, I just drank coffee on an empty stomach. I need to metabolize the fucking cortisol.

This is what I mean by not paying attention.

Where are you coming from such that that is a consideration in the first place?

What IS talked about. Not what is left out.

By paying attention, what exactly do you mean?

Where am I coming from? From experience?

Jan is a teacher who can talk about love (bhakti), integrate it with I-ness and emptiness (jhana), and surrendering (neo-advaita), in the same 3 minutes, without getting stuck in either, combining it into a cohesive framework. Stage Yellow enlightened person 😎

Sorry, I like Jan very much :,)

@Natasha Tori Maru

I think there are kinds of love.

Ralston is the type of guy who loves to throw you into the fire of Truth just to demolish your lies.

Tough Love.

Is this Ralstonian love? I don't know :D

@CARDOZZO My GOD I have this movie playing right now. The fuck!  It is a rewatch.

100% on different kinds of love - and this is sort of what I am pointing to. There is a lot to 'love' or 'Love' if you will :)
