I have been SOS-free (with the exception of olive oil) for the last 2y.

Sugar I get from whole fruits; never missed any industrialized or more artificial type of dessert.

As for salt, my palate adjusted over the course of a month, but of course adding salt (in the rare occasions when I still have it) makes it more tasty. But I love what I eat on a regular basis, so generally quite adapted. The major benefit besides lower sodium intake is you are better able to control how much you eat.

Thats cool. I wanna experiment with food soon and ill see if I try something along those lines.

I sorta stagnated at this stage of development. I knew that eating healthy was a good thing and I felt great about archieving that. But I had a long way to go, I had tons of social, career and spiritual problems I was afraid of. Because they overwhelmed me so much I rather stuck to what I had success with before and chased the last 10% of health.

I can relate to that. It’s a trap. What I find is tho that the mind is very good at telling you what’s wrong. And the more it’s purified the better it will become. It can be something like, you’re at home about to go to bed early because it’s healthy, but you feel somehow bad about not taking th opportunity to go out and socialize. Just an example, could be many other ways

And what’s cool is that improving other parts of your life will actually improve your health! (Not 100% of the time, for example if you overwork yourself to improve finances), but more in the long term.
Because they’ll improve your mental health (if the goal you’re aiming at feels aligned with higher self).

Yeah .. it takes a lot of consciousness though to face the suffering head on and look for its cause. The cause is oftentimes deeply burried. Very easy to numb yourself beforehand.

Oh yeah thats true. I think the number one predictor of longevity is actually having a good social life.

Whatever reduces stress yea I think. I have wondered tho how important joy is for longevity, in case someone is quite apathetic to a lot of things but still has low stress, and thus chooses to isolate but not out of fear but rather a lack of deriving much joy from it. Do they live shorter  Hmm

@Ramasta9 I still do not see what is so bad about adding small amounts of salt to foods. Unless I misunderstand you.

What is wrong with enhancing the flavour of food, so long as it remains a healthy source of nutrients to maintain body homeostasis?

I am not a huge foodie, but I take great pleasure in a lovely meal.

Salt is the only thing I ever add. I find it much more satiating than anything else like sugar etc

I can still taste the salt in natural foods, no problem. In fact, I think the recommended amounts of salt are a little low for healthy people according to guidelines. Especially those who regularly exercise.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

I think thats hard to answer scientifically because the "pure introverts" will only be a small part of that group. Isolated or empathetic people will strongy correlate with many other unhealthy traits. Friends help immensely with material survival which is important to keep in mind as well.

I think even if you are a strong introvert you need some kind of human connection, maybe less but still some of it.

It makes me really gassy, so I would say that’s a good way to expel toxic energies.

We need "sodium" not salt, salt is very dehydrating on the body and organs and especially adrenal glands. It creates an unnatural spike.

Many doctors and teachers i follow avoid it and I know many people including myself who never have it and are fine. I have tiny sprinkles of celtic sea salt or icelandic flake salt (true salt) once in a while but I've realized cutting back on it for a while, just like coffee, and any other strong stimulant, then after a break incorporating it again and noticing the negative effects on my body as the days go by, whereas when we consume these things often, we don't notice the negatives because our bodies have become used to them. Our bodies utilize sodium ideally from plants and extract the sodium from them, and when we consume rocks (inorganic minerals) our bodies struggle and becomes quite taxing and dehydrating on our organs.

We have become used to these things so we don't notice much but if you've done as much detoxing and cleansing and fasting and experiments as I have on diet and health, you will notice what is truly ideal for the human body and what is not but mere adaptations and addictions.

Medical Medium books and videos have been helpful I seen many good videos on why and how salt is bad for us but i'll have to find them, we need correct sodium that balances the body, celery, tomatoes, lemons, spinach, general vegetables and herbs ect... I am not so much of a "foodie" as much of a very health conscious individual and this department i think is crucial for living a more vibrant and conscious life that most overlook.

Yet out bodies are our foundation, like the trees body and its roots. As within so without :)

See most people today are not truly sober because these modern foods and ways of eating act more like drugs than food, and we are often never in homeostasis or truly sober as we are when we only eat pure fruits and veggies or fasting, then after the detox occurs, we notice a calm, sustained zen, no spikes, no crashes ect... I have explored this a lot so i can speak from experience and can share about it but i know it can be challenging with modern fast-paced lives without coffee, salt, sugar, overly cooked and flavoured comfort meals ect... but yeah it comes with a price. I used to make amazing dishes, but eventually I needed to choose whats more important, health or taste buds.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy coffee, cacao and such once in a while, once or twice a week at most... And once in a while sprinkle a bit of salt on something that i feel really needs it, but yeah as i go deeper into this journey of purification I become more sensitive and aware of the negatives of these foods and substances we've been brought up with and how they may not actually be ideal for us but we've become used to.

Any more than that the body starts the addictive cycle and acid-builds up and body gradually becomes toxic and imbalances occur.

Fresh coconut from the store has all the naturally occurring (and in balanced proportions) electrolytes we need.

Hope this clears things up

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance ~ of a unified mystery...
