I feel that consciousness work has made me much better at learning chess. If I wanted to invest that time, I could get very good at it, but that isn't a good use of my time.

The single most important thing you need for becoming masterful at chess is fooling yourself that this is a good use of your time. If you can do that, you're halfway to grandmaster :D

Have you thought of any novel ways of learning that go beyond what most people do who do achieve grandmaster status?

How to achieve that freak of nature skill level? lol

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Well, yeah, consciousness work brings insane requisite variety, mental flexibility, creativity, and intuition.

My learning process is so intuitive now that it cannot be formalized or rationally laid out. I just channel higher intelligence. Can this be turned into a formal training method? Not really. A decade of consciousness work is the training. And the beauty of it is that it works in any new domain, from music to math to chess to social to children to animals.

It is truly General Intelligence.

I could intellectually master most domains. The problem is that most domains are meaningless to master. What is the point in mastering math, for example? It's a big opportunity cost. And mastering domains requires such seriousness that it ceases to be enjoyable. So for hobbies, mastery is not ideal. Chess is much more fun as intermediate than as a grand-master. The only way to become a grand-master is to turn chess into a tedious grind.

I love chess in a causal way. I love chess before it was computer-analyzed and memorized to death. Chess back in the 1800s. That was magical chess.

I want to build a platform similar to chest tactics except you're given consciousness tactics. And what you would be training is to level up your thinking process aligned with the consciousness work of actualized.org.

Basically to make it fun and addictive in the way chess is and to have everything structured in one place. And lets imagine each puzzle can be served to you and you would receive a rating and so on.

Do you think something like this is possible? Consciousness tactics/puzzles?

Can it be gamified? but consciously taking care to not turn it into a dogma?

It's a cool idea. If it is possible you would need to pioneer it/invent it.

The point of invention is that you don't know how well it will work until you invent it.

I had a similar idea: create a library of insights and people can choose which ones they want to see, then lead them to it with carefully designed stepping stones.

  • Would it just be like "pearls of wisdom" and you'd design a tests for each one? Like a koan?
  • Would you categorize or group them into various buckets like self-help, spirituality, etc?

I think it's a good idea if designed well.

Chess is a closed domain and consciousness is open (undetermined by rules), so it would be challenging to gamify.

If you wanna to really useful, what one of you should do is create something like Actualized.org but for kids.

I am too vulgar to be kid-appropriate.

If you love something you don't need a reason to work on it.  It could be building model train sets.  You do it to do it.  I love the current era of chess actually.  But I love theory.  I'm more of an openings nerd than a middle game tactician or an end game wizard.

Isn't it pedophile to do cult work on kids? Are you that blind and oblivious, or are you a pedo?

@chess_king Watch yourself.

The only one here with pedophilia on his mind, is you.

Teaching kids epistemology and truth-seeking is crucial for their well-being.

Seems like this one has many winning moves for black. I don't see a puzzle here. Black has a very good position to start. He can start by just taking a free bishop.
