I've been using Linux Mint for half a year now.

It just works™. And these greedy Microsoft bastards can go to hell. They shouldn't be given money on principle.

You've joined the dark side.

The desktop environment? Hmm, no, I haven't tried it. I've heard it's pretty, but a bit bloated in that sense. I prefer a more barebones interface.

COSMIC seems more interesting to me.

Didn't know about COSMIC, interesting.

Are you a nerdy type? IT bachelor's or just curious about computation in general?

Just a hobbyist, not much of a tech guy, but I enjoy learning about some of these things.

Awesome dude. Are you into games? Search for Zachtronics. You will get deep into tech using games.

I just deleted my Linux Mint and Windows partitions and installed CachyOS. I'm enjoying it so far!

I'm just afraid that my computer will blow up or something if it doesn't get updated every week. :D (because it's based on Arch).

What a bunch of nerds!

😋

Start using virtual machines (VMware/Virtual Box).

You can have hundreds of distros to tinker.

I was planning on installing Windows on a VM for spare use of more esoteric software.

I think that, for now, setting up my system is more than enough. :D But thank you, I may actually do that at some point.

For me the best Linux experience actually has been MacOS. About 15 years ago I was running Ubuntu with the 3D Desktop Cube and heavily modded. It was fun.

I am not a Apple guy by any stretch and I dislike iOS and iPadOS. But there is something about a MacBook that just feels really nice when using it. It's very intuitive for me and I get in the flow easier.

It's also nice to just have a Linux like terminal experience with all the command line tools I am used to. For me it's the dream OS, it works reliably, doesn't crash, doesn't bother me with useless updates. It's a true productivity machine.

Glad to hear it's working out for you. I use it too, and I agree - it has a certain charm, though not so much aesthetically with the latest update, in my opinion.
