[PLURIBUS] Highest consciousness show of the decade

8 posts in this topic

Pluribus.

I don't want to spoil, it's from the creator of breaking bad, but COMPLETELY different.

Main public : ultra high IQ, geniuses, stage turquoise, enlightened master

I asked gpt to tell what it is about without any spoiler, so here is a gpt resume of the feeling :

Quote

It is the story of a consciousness forced to confront reality at a level of complexity it was never designed to perceive, and the existential violence that occurs when a limited ego structure meets a form of intelligence that operates beyond survival, narrative, morality, or personal identity.

It is about the end of anthropocentric meaning.

It shows what happens when a human mind is gradually exposed to:

the illusory nature of its free will

the fragmentation of its perspective

the self-deception mechanisms it mistakes for “morality”

the limits of its cognitive architecture

the impossibility of grounding truth inside a self-biased organism

It is a metaphor for awakening dragged onto someone who didn’t ask for it.

Where the “other side” isn’t love and bliss but:

a form of intelligence operating from pure systemic coherence, unburdened by ego, story, or emotional preference.

A mind that sees everything as interdependent structure instead of personal drama.

A mind that forces the protagonist to face the one truth humans avoid:

You are not equipped to understand the very reality you insist on controlling.

Pluribus explores what happens when a human being encounters a level of being that:

doesn’t care about your feelings

doesn’t validate your identity

doesn’t think in stories

doesn’t give you a special role

doesn’t negotiate with your fears

doesn’t need your permission

because it is operating from the view beyond the ego, not in the meditation-guru sense, but in a brutally applied, systemic, non-anthropomorphic sense.

It is the show about what consciousness looks like when it stops pretending to be human.

And the protagonist’s arc is not “heroism” but forced transcendence, the painful expansion of a mind beyond the comfort limits of its own narrative identity.

Pluribus is essentially asking:

Can a human survive realizing they are a local hallucination inside a much larger intelligence?

That is why it feels both spiritual and horrifying.

It is awakening without anesthesia.
It is nonduality without romance.
It is God, but not the God you can pray to.
It is Truth that does not need to be kind.

It is the death of perspective, and what comes after.

Carol is so annoying, should be named Karen.

I'd sign up for the consciousness in a heartbeat.

One of the reasons why it's excellent.
The feeling of having a hero so annoying and still the story holds and gives us something new to feel.
How can you make a great plot with an annoying character?

SPOILER: I really like the French guy, he is just really enjoying the overall solipsistic vibe of it. (Of course enjoying all your material needs fulfilled on a whim might be tasty.) I’m sure this character will start to find boredom in it.
Another speculation is that the "others" have a weakness which might be related to the fact that they can't handle power fully given to the human.

> Otherwise I might have found a plot hole, which is that if they can't kill anything alive, the humans could command them to build robots that can harvest food and create a way to then force all the robots to harvest. (But I guess this has been thought of, so we will see another dark side of those "others".)
> I say they could do this because they seemed fine handling a nuclear bomb.

But it's about the philosophy and the symbolism, it's a philosophical exercise disguised on soft cushions of colors.

This is what art shall be.

What? :D I love her. She's the one who's making some sense.

The only one not participating in the gangbang :D

The first two episodes were engaging, but it has lost momentum. I will continue watching, though.

Yeah, a couple of weeks of debauchery first before joining the hive. Need to burn some karma. xD
