The problem for them is how do you maintain memory in today’s virtual reality?  The algorithms are already preparing the next big thing.   There is no guarantee that in 10 days anyone here will remember who Charlie Kirk was.

Yes. I live amongst them. Ironically, for me, Christian funerals are like spiritual warfare to attend because not only am I dealing with grief from loss, but I have to watch them administer their poison and pretend like nothing is happening. IME, these types of events give you firsthand experience of a very toxic phenomenon.

I actually think this is gold for their movement. There's no telling how many fence-sitters will now become Christian or right-wing. This is a culture war and the right is getting unprecedented exposure where the they're being painted as good and the opposition evil. No matter what happens to TPUSA, this feels like a huge win for the right in terms of bringing more people over to their side.

Hi Leo. First time poster here. While I entirely understand where you are coming from, and agree with you, I would still like to encourage you to open your mind to the possibility that there's much more nuance and love to Lenin than is usually understood across the political spectrum. I know that you're already superhumanly open minded, but having blind spots is just a part of playing the game of being human. If it's okay, I'd like to recommend to you a book about Lenin. It's called "Revolution at the Gates: Selected Writings of Lenin from 1917" by Slavoj Žižek. It entirely changed my view of the man, when I read it soon after it first came out.

Anyway, if I can add some of my thoughts to the Charlie Kirk issue - this whole situation, together with how the Right is weaponizing it against the progressives, is oddly similar to the political situation in late 1920s and early 1930s Germany. I have this foreboding feeling that soon there's going to be a great tragedy on a scale of the Reichstag fire, that's going to be used to mass persecute all kinds of liberals and leftists. Reichstag fire itself was used as a pretext to create first concentration camps (such as Dachau) and throw all democrats, socialists and communists there.

It doesn't really affect me as much as it does for you (I live in the EU, and my personal worries have more to do with the ongoing war in Ukraine), but I still deeply feel for all of you living across the ocean. As always, solidarity is all we have in situations like these.

Trump's speech during the Kirk memorial service was terrible. He literally went off about how amazing his election victory was, how many votes he got, and now he's been ranting about tariffs for almost ten minutes now. 

He was invited to this stage to eulogize a man who died and he's going off on his tariff policy.

He said he "hates" his political opponents and even dunked on Biden and Jimmy Kimmel.

That's the difference between Trump and someone like Obama, or Biden. Biden and Obama would never say that they hate their opponents.

And he was applauded for it all. The biggest applause that I saw was when he mentioned retribution.
