The value of the Actualised forum

I believe that many of us wonder what is the intrinsic value of this forum for spiritual growth and personal development. Sometimes discussions on here feel more indulgent than enlightening. Saying this, debating for the sake of it can be fun and intellectually stimulating so nothing wrong with that as long as it's not overdone at the expense of time that could be better served elsewhere

However I have found this forum to be highly rewarding to me in one key way - hearing about concepts and wisdom teachers that have opened the door to new perspectives and growth. This has happened a few times, but the most life changing for me was hearing about David Deida. This was the first place I'd heard of his name and work and it's led me down and interesting path of growth and spiritual orientation. I am very grateful for this forum and community in this regard

This forum is awesome.  Leo created a community where regular people can openly discuss important issues that make our lives better. Where else can you get this? It's like when Socrates gathered the youth in the town squares and discussed life with them. This forum is a small refuge from the depravity, misinformation, conspiracy theories, cheap entertainment, and celebrity gossip found elsewhere.

For me it is a place where I can express my thoughts to paper. When I walk about in daily life, I reflect on what I have written and i realize how full of shit I am, then I continue walking.

What I love about this forum so much is that you can connect with like-minded people that are on similar paths. Also you can reference and read about other people's trip reports, very good for mapping out the psychedelic experience by fellow voyagers and there are gems, gold nuggets in every category on this forum. You can learn from other people's foolishness and contribute your voice and ideas to a tight community.

Lol. It’s good for you, or so I like to think.

I think the same. Feels good to realize the limits of one previous thoughts. I can then let go of them and progress.

This is a public journal for me.

I like it better than traditional journaling because I can get more perspectives. Your questions and comments help stimulate my thinking.

Also, it's really helpful to have a chronological catalog of all your thinking. You can look back over the years and see how much your thinking has evolved. It's both fulfilling and cringe inducing ^_^

I will not break, 'cause I've been riding the curves of these infinity words and so I'll be on my way. I will not stay.

I fucken die inside looking back - but there is no better way to test the ego :P

Guts all laid out in forum posts, ripe to be eaten by the cannabalistic vulture I am.

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.

You can learn a lot from engaging with philosophical topics that you haven't given much thought previously. You also learn to be constructive when dealing with others. These are valuable things.

I think it is kind of great that people keep asking if these forum is a waste of time. It shows a serious streak that is kind of rare.

  • Putting ideas into words can be very beneficial for non-verbal thinkers
  • Gold mine for resources
  • I would say there isn't a better place for meeting intelligent people online than this forum. (anecdotal)
