Stop confusing nonduality with radical nonduality (please?)

147 posts in this topic

Nonduality is like Rupert Spira being aware of awareness, consciousness being aware of itself, look at me i‘m Rupert Spira i wear glasses 🤓 and have a British accent i‘m so woke. Here is what you can do to become more aware

Radical Nonduality is like Tony Parsons and Andreas Müller, there is nobody, bo meaning, nothingness being everything. Look at me i‘m nothing 😎 there is nobody who can do anything.

Alright thanks guys and glad we talked about it.

If I remember correctly Rupert spira once said there’s two steps to awakening. First you awaken to nothingness, consciousness, but it’s still a nothingness that’s separate from everything, then second step is consciousness realizes it’s everything so merges with everything

Havent verified it to myself btw

A radical non dualist young woman who later disappeared from YouTube talked about something similar in her own experience.

Yea if that’s what he said (i don’t know) Rupie Spira gives you a path and steps and a next. And you believe him because he has glasses 🤓 and a British accent. Imagine he had a Texas accent and a confederate flag. You wouldn’t believe it. I like Rupert Spira though because he’s lovely.

I am open to it and I find he does have some value to what he says, that’s what I intuit at least. What degree of awakening he has I don’t know, if it’s the same as the radical non dualists or different (can’t know for sure if they are legit either, but I do resonate with some really small YouTube channels)

What’s the value?

What I meant is that his teachings seem to me to come from a place of some kind of true realization, not that’s it’s gonna change one’s life tho

The only way to have an insight into no self is if awareness penetrates all transient existence. That's why following instructions that rise awareness is essential. Without that you just have a nondual nothingburger.

What do you mean by awareness penetrates all transient existence?

There are instructions to build muscle

There are instructions to increase fat

There are instructions to sharpen the awareness and discernment.

Unless the awareness is sharpened to the point where it can discern the eternal from transient, there is no enlightenment, there is no genuine insight, there is only nondual self gaslighting.

That seems to be a first step, to realize nothingness (the eternal)

I also say 2+2=4. Are you going to dismiss me here too based on what I've said before?

Yes that would be the first enlightenment in Rupert Spira's map.

It’s the blind leading the blind.

Like a fat person giving advice on how to lose weight.

I mean there’s no free will anyway probably but its bs

@Sugarcoat I just watched a Robert Spira's video out of curiosity, i quite like it it's more comprehensible than Jim Newman.

Looks like all non dual teacher are clones who talk the same way, have similar facial expression and wear the same unicolor shirts lol.

If the self is in the brain

And psychedelics act on the brain to temporarily alter or dissolve the self

And if enlightenment means no self

Then it seems enlightenment can have some sort of neural basis and there could be tangible methods increasing the chance of it
