Is Working Out Healthy?

7 posts in this topic

What do you guys and gals think is working out healthy for you or not? I think the science and the studies suggest that people who work out at least a little bit tend to be better off and I have personally tried this out as I used to be a sporty kid into athletic stuff and these days I haven't been able to do it as much. I am feeling okay not having gone to the gym that much but I am kinda interested to get in a better fit again.

Mostly I like to take long walks as my workout and sometimes go barefoot walking even and spend time in nature and jump around there and do Tai Chi and Yoga kinda stuff.

So do you think it's worth it to work out or not and what kind of work out plan do you have?

Too much working out is bad.

Runners often have lower testosterone and probably other hormones including thyroidian ones.

Depends, don’t wanna do like David Goggins run 100 miles untrained, so hard you get rhabdomyolysis, kidney failure, broken feet, shin splints, stress fractures, peeing blood, shitting yourself, etc all in one race. Thats not so healthy

Not every stress is bad. Some exercise is good and actually helps slow down aging. But its important to not overdo it. I think lot of people overexercise.

You shouldnt do that high intensity all the time.

Listen to your body, if you starting to get tired then stop. Also if your sex drive is lower that means its bad u overdid it.

Btw look at women powerlifters or gym goers who go 5or more times a week in the gym without makeup. As a female you can age yourself much quicker

I think exercising your back muscles and your spine + lower back is very important. This is where absolute majority of all pains later in life is comming from. And most people don't exercise it properly, cause they're focusing on all their little BS meaningless physique goals. If you trully were to analyze the reasons for why you want to exercise and your true motivations behind it, you'd find out that most exercising is actually pretty meaningless. Even running is kinda BS, you don't need to run to mantain good heart health you just need to walk a lot. I suppose a bit of running doesn't hurt tho I guess. But it fucks up your knees over time, especially if you mostly run on concrete roads. Also, like deadass, I think exercising cannot really solve the problems of our modern lifestyle which is naturally devoid of any physical activity and tends to keep you stuck in certain poses for long periods of time (such as sitting in a chair, laying in bed etc.), it can just lessen the negative impacts later down the line

Longevity is roughly equal to health stretched over time.

You don’t need to lift weights per say although it’s great but moving & getting your heart rate up is absolutely essential for health. It’s disproportionately worth it. Walking will not increase your metabolic rate enough from my experience. It’s still great but insufficient.
