Marketing is sharing your message and convincing people of engaging with it.

I was pondering on the Leo blog post recently on marketers being bullshitters. I’m not sure if that’s really the case; are Seth Godin and Gary Vee con artists? Perhaps it has to do with the need to convince someone or something but isn’t that just human communication with scale put into it?

Packaging and advertising your product in a way that is compelling to your prospects and the algorythm, rather than in a way that’s truthful and honest.

The more you are willing to play the marketing game, the more money you will make.

Marketing is like pickup, but the goal isn't to sell yourself to one individual, but to sell a solution to many.

It isn't inherently bad, but since the masses are low conscious, they are easily manipulated.

But you can do marketing without being shady.

I like books like this: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/printed-books/click/

If the masses were high-conscious, deceptive marketing tactics would backfire, which would manifest a more honest and good-faith marketplace.

Yes, this would be beautiful.

But won’t happen in our lifetime.

imo Marketing is communicating that your product physically exists by posting an advertisement somewhere visible, whilst persuading people to buy your product/service.

Marketing is in essence manipulative.

Leo built Actualized.org by buying time with money earnt from owning a marketing agency.
