Kriya Yoga Stagnation

16 posts in this topic

I’ve been doing Kriya yoga every day for 50 days, but don’t seem to be improving at the techniques etc.

Is this normal, or could it be that other parts of my life have to progress first before Kriya can take hold?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Good job for sticking to it for 50 days! That's a very good start. Don't worry that you are not seeing any results yet. There will be periods where you will feel like nothing is happening and that you are going backwards. This is normal. If you keep up the practice and give yourself to the proccess, it will eventually transform you.

Your fears and insecuarites will come up during this proccess.  Don't react to it - Keep going.

What type of Kriya are you doing?

@SamC I am following JC Steven’s book: Kriya Secrets Revealed.

Thanks, I will probably stick it out… I’ve taken a few days off and am now preparing to recommit. Are you a Kriyaban?

Yes.

I have been doing kryia yoga and other type of Sadhana everyday for more than a year now. Words can't explain what it has done to me.

I strongly recommend Sadhguru's teachings and inner enginering If you haven't looked into it already. It's a goldmine🙏🏻

Do Sudarshan Kriya as taught by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Holy Spirit, I REFUSE to do my S(elfish)atanic Will. Help me, for I strive to see your Kingdom.

[Matthew 16:24-25] 24 > “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Are those teachings online or in his paid programs?

@OrangeOak does it still resonate with you? If you keep doing it despite a growing sense that this is not your path going forward, it probably won't help you much. Contemplate this deeply.

Both. Inner enginering is not free. He has a lot of amazing free meditations in his apps "Sadhguru" and "Miracle of mind". He also has hundreds of videos on youtube with satsangs and other videos where he give advise.

I do both some of his free meditations and also some that I paied to learn.

If you want to check out some of his teachings I would reccomend "Isha kriya" and chit shakti. There are 4 different chit shakti meditations ( Love, peace, success and health) . They are all avalible for free on the Sadhguru app.

I do the success one and isha kriya everyday together with my other practises.

@OrangeOak What kind of improvement are you expecting?

After 50 days you should have the technique nailed down. What is there to improve about it? The techniques are very simple.

Are you conflating techniques with lack of results? Results can take many months to bear fruit. 50 days is not enough to feel big results.

@OrangeOak you could try doing kriya yoga on Psychedelics, specially LSD, to speed progress.

Maybe you've hit a plateau on the breath level (everyday practice) maybe it's time to switch to the vertical level (intensity, 3h+ yoga sessions) maybe even hitting this weekend a casual retreat for yourself and spend 6h doing kriya yoga Saturday and Sunday.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. Personally I prefer Kundalini Yoga, it complements nicely with Kriya Yoga.

Try this out to spice things up!

If you do the above three times in a row you'll very much feel the change in your state of consciousness. This video for me is the most complete, compact and holistic to raise my state of consciousness endogenously.

Kriya yoga is an illussion, we don't have control. What kriya yoga techniques do, is simply show your appreciation/effort to the divine.

Please be careful. I did LSD once right after kriya yoga and activated my kundalini by mistake. Was awake for 48 hours running around in my apartment because I couldn't fall asleep.

@SamCGod activated my kundalini till solar plexus, the energy was great. I decided to pull it further towards heart, at that point the energy/ecstasy/heat was barely bearable i did a prayer and imagined it going down and it was gone. God was in control and gave me what i could handle my ego pushed further and got a lesson out of it.

God is in control

@Davino @krazzer @Leo Gura @SamC

I’ll check out the Inner Engineering, thank you.

I do appreciate Sadhguru more nowadays, the tree planting and soil activism he’s involved in is cool too.

Do you mean Ravi Shankar the sitar player? That’s sounds like something I could get into.

I think I just had to reclarify why I’m doing the practice: to experience states of consciousness beyond the mind, to stop the flow of incessant chatter.

I won’t be using psychedelics in combination with kriya, I think progress with it is gradual by design, to allow you to acclimate properly.

You’re right, I’ll try 6 months and then report back. Not being in the mindset of expecting results, but simultaneously applying full focus.
I do think where you are in the rest of your life largely determines how much you can engage with the practice. For me at the moment, I haven’t been able to create enough continuity of community feeling, so I largely lack the ‘good stress’ Steven’s talks about, which is required to get results with Kriya. But I’m doing everything I can to address that, so it’s enough just to create a strong habit for now. Once I start my theatre degree in September I’ll be in a much better position.

Update: I’ve been back into the practice for a few days, and today I experienced an overwhelming third eye activation, where I saw fractals with my eyes open.
