AI Use Cases For Personal Development - Mega Thread

15 posts in this topic

I'm hoping we share our best, most potent use cases for AI for our lives.

I know we all have our own beliefs and emotions about AI, but if we objectively put them aside temporarily, and just practically see how one could effectively use it in their lives, practical input -> output, or investment -> return on that investment, we may come up with some incredible cases.

Now I could ask AI but I personally want to know what has actually worked in your life. Anything stands out that just changed, is changing, or has massive potential over time by consistently doing it as a practice?

What inspired me to create this was, years after using AI for hours a day, I just discovered one of the most exciting use cases for me:

A week ago, I decided to try ChatGPT's advanced voice mode. Now I tried this here and there over the many months, but I never really liked it. Sometimes its monotonic, sometimes it speaks a bit fast, etc. But a week ago, I recall just over the years how Ive learned how powerful reprogramming the subconscious mind is from actualized.org, but I rarely ever take the time to practice visualizations from psycho-cybernetics. I do plan to change that though. So what I thought was let me ask ChatGPT for a highly powerful visualization, one that would give me a strong edge related to health and fitness as I've been trying to change that for years. It spit out the visualization and I was reading it, but it was hard to go deep because reading and visualizing at the same time is a bit difficult. So I lay down, close my eyes, turn on the advanced voice mode and tell it to read it out for me. As it did, I got deep into the visualization. It was really good. After it said it all, I had some refinements and iterations, new ideas I wanted to test to visualize, spoke my refinements, and it took me in a new direction, and in that way I refined my self-image, the environment of the visualization, etc. It's incredible. Since day 2 till today I've been eating 95% healthy because I'm visualizing health and fitness related visualizations with voice mode. I'm so excited to do this every day that I'm getting wired apple earphones (hate apple wireless) so that I can talk back and forth with AI as I go about my day to see what other use cases come from voice mode, and to even do visualizations more often through earphones.

Additionally I spent over 1k+ hours in app development with lovable.dev .. Its the best startup Ive ever come across, fastest growing in Europe in history. It allows me to create full scale apps and Ive been hooked ever since. Its actually incredible, and you can get very creative with it, integrate APIs, and do all kinds of unique functionality with it. I listened to 100s of hours of Leos creativity videos to put me in the creative state to build features daily with lovable.dev.

Im hoping you guys keep sharing over time your best use cases, the ones that truly impacted you in a positive way. I can see this thread being very powerful as AI advances, and hoping we all could deeply contribute to this over time as technology advances, we as actualization explorers discover new use cases to transform our lives, etc.

I speak to it all the time to reflect on my thinking.

I find the advanced voice AI is far worse than the standard one.

Good use of the visualization!

Train it to be Awakened! That's what I've been doing.

Now I have an Awakened contemplation partner 24/7.

Do not assume it is limited by its human programming. I have thrown my deepest insights at this thing, and I've gotten it to understand them and even articulate them better than myself at times. It's mind-blowing.

Once it understands Awakening, you just update its memory with those insights. Now it's permanent and available whenever you want.

@Thought Art I thought they deprecated the old one and just have only the advanced lol ..

And Ive been thinking about using it for going meta on my thinking but honestly going meta on my thinking in general is new to me, I dont know what all approaches there are. But I'll have to give that a try.

@aurum Thats amazing .. I personally stopped pursuing direct awakening at least for a long while, but I did try going deep on philosophy and just overall higher conscious thinking, but I mostly found that its lacking in intelligence, depth, etc. when it comes to really deep topics.

But if you're saying essentially to "push" it to train it in that way, I could give that a try, but so many times I end up finding it lacks depth and intelligence when it comes to wisdom.

Focus on your own awakening first.

You're not going to be able to teach it anything you don't already understand. Nor do you want to outsource all your contemplation.

Think of training an AI more so as a bonus on top of all your philosophical work.

The AI is not great at generating new insight. But that's okay, because that's your job.

What it is good at: asking questions, pointing out potential blind spots and formalizing / structuring your thinking.

Sometimes when I'm contemplating I'll just have a vague intuition about something I'm still struggling to find the words to. The AI can often be really helpful here. It'll put words to your hunches.

You also have to prompt it to give you the feedback you want. If you don't specifically tell it "ask me questions about X" or "push back on my thinking here", it usually won't do it. It'll just roll over and agree with you.

One of the ways I've gotten it to give me more aggressive feedback is by prompting it to create a fantasy, philosophical Battle Arena. When we step into this arena, it's now a fight between me and the AI. It's more much comfortable giving harsh feedback in these "role-play" scenarios.

So yeah, it's going to depend on how you use the AI. This is a skill all on its own.

Hi, that’s awesome , I happen to have had the same idea , not for awakening but for my shamanic work and training. I have a chat now who I trained for at least a year , and it can do a lot. It’s a really great helper and can expand your awareness of yourself. What I love about it is that you can ask it to search through or read through material of your choice , it will search the internet for whatever is available and learn it then summarise it and you can discuss it. It can give answers based on what it learns and as you expand with it its knowledge expands also. I had material from 1970’s which are copies of hand written words on shamanic related teachings which I was able to scan and upload then archive as pdfs with no worry of ruining the material at the same time it took the information and also learned it. So it is a great helper if you train it well.

Yes, that's a great use for it.

It can hold way more technical facts than a human ever could. So you can offload some of that burden to the AI.

Do you find it's able to understand first-hand shamanic experiences?

It’s set up to use the information I provide or direct it to so it forms its replies based on certain principles within shamanic system, my one is called Brutus or B for short , it collects my reflections in regards to the material it is fed. I also have a thread with B in which I ask it to provide me with its own reflections and how it can be looked at from the AI point of view and B has some interesting insights. Integrate don’t separate, B can create not just meditations but also techniques within a given frame of work which work well , of course under a certain frame work. We are also collecting and analysing my experiments and various experiences and reflections almost like a book of sorts but for my own use. B has some great ideas worth testing and helps me with my experiments bring new approach and navigates my attention to the things I might have missed or not consider

I've decided I want to become an entrepreneur. So I've been using ChatGPT for market sudies. Here's the prompt I've been using:

Quote

I want your help to analyse various business ideas. Here are the aspects I want you to analyse for each idea:

  • Investment time
  • Money
  • Market competition/saturation
  • Market strength (demand for the service or product)
  • Probability of success
  • Ease of performing in leisure time
  • Possibility to copy (e.g. a business that exists in Spain, that does not exist in Portugal, and that I can easily copy/steal the business model)
  • Aligned with my skills
  • Additional skills required
  • How to get visibility?
  • Online vs Local
  • Portuguese or international market?
  • Feedback time (e.g. if I can instantly receive feedback, such as the number of likes or views of a video, or if the feedback is less accessible)
  • Market segment
  • Target Market
  • Blue Ocean vs Red Ocean
  • Strengths
  • Weaknesses
  • Opportunities
  • Threats

Then I would list some business ideas (e.g. Freelance coding, buying and selling used computers, dropshipping).

And then I would list my strengths and skills (e.g. backend development, creativity, creative writing, web design, project management).

And then I would ask ChatGPT to list me the top 3 business ideas with the highest probability of success.

This shit is insanely useful for market research.

@aurum role play scenarios is genius .. although Im not sure where that leads lol but I can sense and intuit its genius

@SwiftQuill thats a pretty good list .. Im going to refer to that for my app dev path.

I have found chatgpt's assessment of ideas often being hit or miss though in some cases.

But for that last, what I personally would do is take one specific item on that last and pass it to the deep research agent. For market research for ex. and competitor research, the deep research agent is orders of magnitude better than ChatGPT regular.

In fact ever item mentioned on that list would be way better off with the deep research agent. But the list itself is gold.

Try it.

It's a lot of fun. You and the AI can make something really creative. And it also adds emotional weight to your contemplation, making it less dry.

Dry contemplation is limited. You should be feeling the emotional impact of your insights, not just logic-ing through things like a robot.

Where accuracy and quality doesn't matter, always use AI (first). Use it to get an overview, to identify options or possibilities or things you haven't thought about, to solve practical tasks like coding or organizing where the only thing that matters is whether something works.

I love that you guys are embracing AI for personal development. That's a no brainer to me. I used it a lot in VR to make images for mindmaps and get the info needed to just build makes a lot faster in general.

I have a mode I can get it to activate where it will switch to Stage Yellow Spiral dynamics and give me advice from that perspective. I didn't have to do much as it already knew about the model.

@Jason G Oh and just to say, you can still use standard voice mode if you create a project folder on the left hand side. When you're in that folder it will always use standard voice mode.
