The Illusion of No Self: The Ego’s Favorite Escape Route.

This thread right here. You still never said anything about my responses about your post, not your personality and you responded by saying some people have a stick or bug up their ass. You never responded to any of my takes or had a discussion about what I disagreed with, you just said I had a bug up my ass. You didn't say me personally and will probably deny you were referring to me, but you and i know you were referring to me just like this response clap-back angry post that you made .Atleast admit that because it's obvious at this point.

@VeganAwake

There was a story, that a student asked Bhodi Dharma to please pacify his mind. And Bhodi Dharma said show me your mind and I will pacify it. The student looked and said that when he tries to find it there's nothing there!

Bhodi Dharma said " there it's pacified".

@VeganAwake You only see selves if you feel you are a self

thats what I think

That's exactly right ❤️

There isn't a you!

There is just a thought about you observing, which seems to be real!

You might be onto something because in my experience it’s like I have lots of thoughts about myself (I’m a little narcissistic like that hahah), imagining myself , referring to myself. So maybe those thoughts contribute to or they create the sense of self? Like it’s the brain imagining a self?

Yup,

Nobody is recognizing it.......it's just recognized or not

@Sugarcoat  Those self referential thoughts have been happening almost that entire body's existence...... Don't underestimate the wheel of self-referential thinking

I have a ton of them! I think I’ve noticed them for a big portion of my life.

Yes exactly,

The illusion wants to experience freedom or enlightenment.

It can't grasp its not real.

It's recognized outside of that self illusion

I've is the apparent issue because there isn't one! 🤣

So there actually isn't a real issue 🤔

Illusions creating unreal issues, is the real issue........what a conundrum!

When I say stuff like time is not inside of me and go on to explain why I can't see that to be the case, why isn't there a response to say why you said that in the first place. Explain to me why and how time is inside of me, instead of getting upset that I challenged the notion and saying I'm parroting when I can always explain away in my own words using practical examples as to why I don't see it to be the case and can explain anything I'm "parroting", according to you and use everyday practical examples to do it and analogies.

Great question. Remained unanswered so far as I can see?

This appears to be an especially tricky question when it comes to awakening, for multiple reasons.

  • There is no satisfactory answer for everyone. If you were to claim to not be awake, there is at least a sense of authenticity conveyed (determined by the wording). The whole message can lose its' power because it can be interpreted as an admission of parroting (depending on how you word it). Perhaps when it comes to people that are not receptive to it who choose to instead look for cherries to pick that suits their agenda and skepticism, it does not matter much either way. If you were to claim you are awake, it often can appear as arrogance and an inflated (spiritual) ego depending on the wording and context. If you are dodging the question or outright ignoring it, it is likely to be suspicious.
  • Depending on your level of awakening (from what I read and think), it becomes disingenous to claim 'I am awake'. Beyond a certain threshold the I (ego) loses its' grip and ceases to be the main character of the show. The I can not awaken because it would mean total destruction (and reformation) of it that is no longer easily conveyable to humans.

I guess authenticity goes all the way, be it harsh or soft. People however seem to resonate more with a message coming from love (which can be tough), than anything else.

Yes,

But it seems only when it's clearly recognized there first, does it become obvious elsewhere after!

Think about yourself for a few minutes deeply.

Think about how others might view you also.

Does what others think about you, make it true?

Does what you think about yourself, make it true?

Do thoughts make someone period?

One person may say you're great and the next person may say you're a dumb shit.

All opinions about you, including your own, simply DO NOT make an individual.........opinions do not make anything.

Opinions and thoughts are empty of meaning.......they are just like clouds blowing in the wind, or sounds exiting the mouth!

So who are you without thoughts and opinions?

Conciousness

Imagine for a moment, dear friends, that you are Conciousness, and that you have only this one awareness - that you are at peace, and that you are.
