Have you tried nicotine pouches like ZYN? Any difference with real tobacco?

Tobacco doesn't exactly feels the same that nicotine.

I couldn't if it's essentially a placebo or if it's because of other compounds in tobacco (harmalans).

This lame site xD

I came across an article that begins with "I'm sick of anti-smoking propaganda."

When you have these kinds of persecutory fantasies, it's actually a projection; the world in general is a projection.
It's you who doesn't like smoking, but you force yourself more or less for some reason, and the "you" who doesn't like it appears in a mirror.

When I was in the Amazon, I was introduced to mapacho.  It is a Peruvian tobacco which is very strong.  The shaman had been smoking it since he was a child.  He was in his fifties and in perfect health.  I saw him once walking up a hill carrying two heavy water bottles over his shoulders.   I was told that what causes the cancer in commercial tobacco are the chemicals that  are used to dry the tobacco.  In Peru they dry the tobacco naturally and add no chemicals.   Tobacco is also considered a sacred plant, so they are aware it can either heal or kill you depending on how you treat it.

I work with Mapacho myself.

Using it here and there with a ceremonial medicine approach, has helped me settle my nervous system, ground, and purge a lot of stagnant energy in my body.

Of course, Mapacho also has Nicotine. In fact, it has 9 times more Nicotine than the Tobacco that's in cigarettes.

So, it can be addictive if used habitually.

But I have found that using it sparingly has been incredibly helpful to me.

@Schizophonia how do you feel on nicotine? Because we have the same experience on 5MEODMT so I’m curious.

Nicotine hits me super hard

Do you really want to smoke, or is it just your friends pressuring you directly or indirectly to do it? A good question to contemplate.

Regardless, inhaling right after is how it makes you feel the buzz.

Hi.

To me nicotine feels like a kick in the butt; if you're paralyzed by ruminations, a lack of concentration, or a general lack of motivation, tobacco gets you back on track.
Unlike coffee, it's stronger/more effective, more "recreational," and it's physically a downer. It also helps you socialize a lot, but in a "smart" way, not in a depraved way like alcohol.

I'm also sensitive to nicotine, if I smoke too fast, I feel empty, dizzy, and can't walk properly lol.

I don't know if it's related to 5 MeO; they're somewhat similar in their ability to suppress mental speech and physical sedation.

Nicotine is also a psychedelic.   I saw the shaman go into a trance smoking mapacho.  I don't smoke mapacho, but I do use rapeh, which is the snuff form with a kuripe, which helps quite my mind during meditation.

If nicotine is psychedelic then any drug is.

No.

MDMA, Weed, dissociatives (Ketamines, PCP...), delirants, even opiates, all of theses drugs are closer to psychedelics than tobacco.

It depends on the dose and how you use it.  The shamen begin smoking when they are young and they develop the lung capacity to use it to alter consciousness just like a plant medicine.  The average person would get a toxic reaction before reaching that state.  In one of the ceremonies, the shaman was doing healing where he would fully inhale the smoke and then blow it on the person.  There were a lot of people there and it became toxic and he had a reaction and was throwing up all over the place.   I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners.  I have reached altered states using large doses of rapeh.

What's the purpose of hapé ? 🤔

In the Amazon... Hapé is called the grandfather while Ayahuasca is called the grandmother, as they go together. And if you attend an Ayahuasca ceremony, Hapé is often used to prepare one's self for the Ayahuasca journey... or even to ground if the journey starts getting too heavy

Hapé calms the nervous system and grounds you deeply in the physical world... and helps you purge stagnant energy from the body and bring unprocessed emotions to the surface.

And perhaps most importantly, it temporarily weakens the power and stickiness of your thoughts... and it becomes a lot easier to meditate and just be present with what is. And it allows you to be a lot more open and receptive.

But despite its grounding feature, there is also occasionally an energy about it that reminds me of how an eagle feels in flight. And it can have some effects that are similar in some ways to entheogens, despite it not itself being a hallucinogen.

And the use of Hapé pre-dates the use of Ayahuasca. And the recipe for Ayahuasca (which is the mixture of the Ayahuasca (Caapi) vine and Chacruna leaves) is said to have come as a vision someone in one of the Amazon tribes had while under the influence of Hapé.

Yea it corresponds well to tobacco.

Oh so you mean Ayahuasca recipes would have been canalized during a hapé "trip".

Yes. It's said that thousands of years ago, someone in one of the Amazon tribes was sitting with Hapé and got a vision and instructions about how to create Ayahuasca.

Of course, there are many tribes around the Amazon who all relate to Ayahuasca in different ways. So, I don't know if the story is different in different tribes as to how Ayahuasca was discovered.

But it seems that the prevailing understanding is that the use of Hapé predates and led to the invention of Ayahuasca.

Rapeh or Hapeh is also used after the Aya journey.   I have done rapeh after a mushroom journey, and the rapeh reactivates the medicine and you can go into an entire new journey, and it can be intense.
