Are the visuals similar to those in the video above?

They can be. Although mushrooms are generally more colorful and geometric. The video seems closer to what you get on some deliriants - loss of focus, sound amplification, wobbling, tracers.

Visuals are just a sideshow, you can discard them for deeper headspace and more consciousness if you so wished.

Whichever way you turn, there is the face of God

Hey everyone.

Do you think that psychedelic visuals or other sensory experiences could deeply affect your understanding of reality, or do you view them as you would in your normal state?

It's mesmerizing to witness the change of your whole physical reality. It's so total.

I don't understand why and how psychedelics do that.

For me: Similar, but not quite there

Similar:

  • A pulsating of surfaces
  • Things that are not moving are now more dynamic

Not quite there:

  • I see geometric patterns I normally don't see
  • Things that are 2D like a poster on my wall become vibrant 3D
  • Normal surfaces, patterns and shapes recombine to different shapes and pattern create sth (don't know to to describe it better. Let's say there was a wall with irregular surface, and suddenly these irregularities formed shapes like humans, animals)
  • I don't have the experience of a "center" like during the peak period in the video
  • The pulsating, geometric shapes (like fractals) are more colorful

Me too.
Eyes open or closed, it didn't matter.

I also experienced changes in my

  • Auditory field. I was hearing sounds in new ways.
  • Sensory field. I was feeling my body very intensely and thoroughly.

The visuals in the video are almost exact representations of what I was experiencing while tripping. 😮🤯

Yep. We can use this in the context of healing trauma. I've found it necessary tool in processing them.

No. The hallucinations you get from psychedelic state allow you to imagine your fears in ways that would otherwise not be possible through just talking about it. The goal here is to process it in ways, beyond being a person, the "normal state".

In conclusion, the more experience I've had with them, I've also been more confident in vocalizing how useful they've been with professionals. Now when I share psychedelics with mental health experts I'm close with, I'm surprisingly met with genuine curiosity about it, not with criticism or fears for my safety. This was not the case in the beginning, as I didn't have the proper understanding or experience at the time.

Bonus story: I hallucinated so deeply 3 talk therapy sessions ago, and now he is really curious about psychedelics xD

😄

I took a large dose as a beginner, which, to be honest, was terrifying, yet I want to explore it more. I'm glad that the window of my hotel room was too small.

Me too.

It’s the ultimate litmus test to gauge who is truly serious about exploring those realms.

LSD and 4HO MET are the most visual psychedelics outside of DMT.

The first one if you also want to go very far in general, to another galaxy lol; The second one if you want to have a lot of visuals but remain at least a little lucid.
