So Switzerland represented by Nemo won the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song  "The Code". It's about a non binary person finding their identity somewhere outside traditional gender norms.

The original video is not on YouTube. You can watch it here:

Or just the song itself:

[Intro]
Wo-o-oah

[Verse 1]
Welcome to the show, let everybody know
I'm done playin' the game, I'll break out of the chains
You better buckle up, I'll pour another cup
This is my bohème, so drink it up, my friend

[Pre-Chorus]
Oh
Oh
This story is my tru-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-uth

[Chorus]
I, I went to hell and back
To find myself on track
I broke the code, wo-o-oah
Like ammonites, I just gave it some time
Now I found paradise
I broke the code, wo-o-oah
Yeah

[Verse 2]
Let me tell you a tale about life
'Bout the good and the bad, better hold on tight
Who dеcides what's wrong, what's right?
Everything is balance, еverything's light
I got so much on my mind
And I been awake all night
I'm so pumped, I'm so psyched
It's bigger than me, I'm gettin' so hyped, like

[Pre-Chorus]
(Oh) Let me taste the lows and highs
(Oh) Let me feel that burning fright
(Oh) This story is my tru-u-u-u-uth

[Chorus]
I, I went to hell and back
To find myself on track
I broke the code, wo-o-oah
Like ammonites, I just gave it some time
Now I found paradise (Ohh)
I broke the code, wo-o-oah (Ohh)

[Bridge]
Somewhere between the 0s and 1s
That's where I found my kingdom come
My heart beats like a
Somewhere between the 0s and 1s
That's where I found my kingdom come
My heart beats like a dru-u-u-u—

[Vocalization]

[Chorus]
I, I went to hell and back
To find myself on track
I broke the code, wo-o-oah
Like ammonites, I just gave it some time
Now I found paradise (Ohh)
I broke the code, wo-o-oah, wo-o-oah

I saw the whole Grand Final with two friends screened in a bar in Tel Aviv. This was such a great experience.

Israel finished the 5th place, and even the 2nd (!) place in the public votes. I can't stress the feeling I had there enough.

Eden Golan's performance here (the issue of the song is of course oct 7th)

@Nivsch Great to hear! I watched it with people of my theatre group, it's a great opportunity for a social event. And I liked Israel as well.

I liked how in Germany we were super happy to be in the upper half. In football for example many Germans are only happy with winning international events like FIFA but because Germany usually sucks in the ESC we have a very humbled ego there which is so refreshing. xD

I watched it and called in for them. I thought this was a great message with the lyrics and performance.

I voted for them as well among two others.

The song is obviously just a small insight into their perspective so they could sell a fantasy but I voted for them anyway because it sounded relatively authentic.

It's probably getting much attention now and it shows how big the gender topic is and how much encouragement non binary people get. This feels a bit like a small milestone.

Promoting the depolarisation of the sexes which leads to pure pain and suffering and death of humanity, beautiful, classic Eurovision!

There is nothing "big" about the gender topic ffs 🤣🤣🤣 it's absolute propaganda from the elites to depolarise the sexes, how do people still fall for this satanic message masked with unintelligent love and acceptance, it's masculine and feminine only, if one is not aligned with their natural energy that means they are disaligned which means their sexual energy is out of balance which leads to all diseases of the body, mind and soul that there are which is in other words disalignement with God which is ultimate suffering and pain, value your sexual energy, don't mess around with it, it's the source of your existence.

The most beautiful performance of the night:

Surely would have been a winner if this forum were voting 😁

Also Ukraine was great, and Lithuania

I don't get how the voting is really done or how much people's votes are worth compared to the juries'. Even if people's votes matter, how do they stay unbiased? Most people want their countries to win. I have watched Eurovision over the years, and I have noticed that it matters more about how you present, what kind of struggle you went through, and how much you love your country than only having a great voice. Singers voices get bad over time when they train before the show. I think that juries have to vote before the shows to see how they really perform.

@strika

It's always funny to see people criticize Eurovision for the wrong reasons. Homophobic people create such drama when their country doesn't win. Get over it.

That song is insane. Occult, I love it.

Yeah that's basically how it felt to me too!

@strika Lol dude please tell me you are from croatia 😂. It almost hurts to read such a close minded view on reality...

Your singer was crazy good!!

And the song quite cute and catchy.

If I was a judge there I would easily give you one of the Top10.

@Jannes The music in his song was kind of weak, but he is talented no doubt especially in the rap part.

@Nivsch I didnt really give a shit about the German singer. He was maybe 10% more interesting because of his nationality. I think its kind of a German thing that you cant really be proud of your country because you that would mean that you somewhat connect to a dark part of German history so you try to have more of a European identity instead.

Ok I understand 🙏

By the way the second comment I wrote to you about the weak music was about Nemo, just to be clear.
