  1. @MarkKol ignore all the bs you have read, eat them and see how you feel.
  2. @Yimpa apologies, from your initial post it appeared you were identifying as you asked: To be attached usually assumes it has a sort of grip.
  3. @toczix it appears you're (like most) just addicted to the thought that arises. That's fine. Just observe the experience when you feel the adrenaline. Observe the thought that triggers it. Unless you fixate on it, want to eradicate it, or label it it will lose its grip.
  4. I do yoga. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into trauma release. I do 2 of the four you mention, I'll look into the others. Thank you. I'll look into that thank you very much.
  5. I'm now in the third year of what seems like my body/mind are stuck in a fight or flight response. I can literally observe the irrational psychology and physiological reactions but also be aware they're completely illusory and irrational. It's almost like I there is 2 sides of me: the fight or flight response, and the observer of the response. This seemed to occur after an accident involving my dog so it could be PTSD related. However, no matter how much I meditate, partake in breathwork, etc etc this response is more or less always there.... Even in the subtleties ways in everyday life (remember Leo's video whereby he mentions everyday micro fears?, Think that) I am pursuing EMDR again as it's extremely effective, however the waiting time is significantly long. Do you have any practical tried and tested advice I can apply in the meantime? ❤️
  6. Having been so sick over the last few years with many health issues I have had to come to the hard decision to suspend the third year of University (this year) whilst I recover from long covid. However, as I am mostly housebound, bed-bound, and have copious amounts of time on my hands I have found I have fell into a little rabbit hole. Even though I am making good use of the time I have, for example, yoga, meditation, growing fruit and veg, reading, podcast's etc, I still feel I have found myself somewhat lost down a little hole I call bullshitness. E.g. social media, shitty films, engaging in egoic opinion based drivel, basically the sort of behaviours and activities I don't align with, fundamentally.... unconscious crap. Imagine being at home all day and some days you're not tired enough to sleep but then don't have enough cognitive and physically energy for reading, thinking in depth, etc. Any ideas on how to cut down this mind numbing crap and possibly any other suggestions? ?
  7. @PlayOnWords hahahaha exactly!! How do you pop a gif on this forum? I wanted to insert a very relevant Homer gif but I forgot how ? @Ulax appreciate your suggestions and advice thank you ☺️ @flowboy Thanks for replying. I don't know if they're a substitution for socialising, I can't socialise much even when I'm well, it's too over stimulating. I find it maybe just because I am seeking some form of freedom from boredom ? What makes things more difficult is the current situation I find myself in means I have a perfectly good mind sat 'inside' a temporarily knackered body, thentl throw in the extra restraint of being house bound, it all just feels like a prison, suffocating. So yeah, upon reflection, it may be that I am minimally partaking in such drivel as an escape (maybe a type of emotional regulation strategy) from what I currently feel is a type of imprisonment. ?
  8. @PlayOnWords so sorry to hear you also bed-bound. What you said absolutely resonates and I think the message I've acquired from your words are just to apply some self compassion and realise that as long as the long-term vision is held, and I continue to engage in the meaningful activities/behaviours then I suppose that's the best I can do. Made me laugh that you referred to The Simpsons when that is literally what I had in mind in my original post ?
  9. If you have been able to get to a space in which you do or have detached from the content of thought share with me how you managed to achieve this....
  10. @caesar13 elaborate on "I do not have the desire to do anything." What is anything? What is desire for you? Sending you strength and love friend. ?
  11. I've started reading this book: https://amzn.eu/d/3CrKSrI Little Peace of Mind: The Revolutionary Solution for Freedom from Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Stress Never have I read a book from a Western perspective, which approaches mental health problems from the fundamental dynamics of thought. Unlike the usual self help generic books that focus on changing or managing the problem thoughts (content), this author is attempting to teach people and help people wake up to the nature of thought itself, and how it creates everything. A breath of fresh air to read, I highly recommend.
  12. @thenondualtankie huge amounts of sympathy and compassion from me. I hop rou find a way to make peace with what is currently happening. Literally in the same boat as you. I have two exams approaching and I can't move from the bed or find a word, chow chow degree ??‍♀️??
  13. @Leo Guraa What have you been battling with regarding your health?
  14. If you want to go meta on the your metaphysical stance you could argue there is no such thing is the dichotomy between natural and unatural, this is a contrasting paradigm constructed via the the human mind between synthetic/lab based substances, and earth derived or 'natural' substances. However, everything, be it 'natural' or 'synthetic' derives from nothing and everything simultaneously, it comes from the earth. Therefore natural and synthetic don't exist.
  15. The vaccine is not a predicator for long COVID
  16. Happy belated birthday Leo ?
  17. https://youtube.com/@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Tons of ideas
  18. Sounds like long COVID. I am 4 months into this shit, one of the worst experiences of my life. I have nearly lost my degree to a combination of brain fog, fatigue and muscle aching (3 of over 20 symptom). Start creatine monohydrate daily. Check out the research. Seemed to have helped me with the brain fog aspect.
  19. Anyone who struggles to read big books, and for anyone who wants to delve into the juicy elements of a topic without the long winded introduction. How I like to learn about any topic is by delving deep into its bigger contextual narrative and it's historical viewpoint, in any subject. Its roots, it's meaning, it's struggles, why does it do this and that etc etc, all those juicy burning questions that form it's framework and foundations, I go out and seek. Bill gates advocates this style of learning in a recent video I watched. These books really do help you to do jus that in a quicker, no nonsense concise and accessible way. I love them and recommend them to anyone who wishes to acquire the foundations and infrastructure to any subject. A very short introduction (Oxford) books. https://g.co/kgs/qEyuNH
  20. I love this.?? I agree with you regarding the vibe around this place, that is one of the main reasons why I didn't want to come around here anymore, I felt there were just a bunch of mini Leos running around parroting his words and spiritually bypassing any disagreements when faced. It literally felt cult-like. Also, there were people unqualified people giving (not sure if there still is) advice to people that needed professional help, watching people who had never studied any form of clinical psychology in their entire lives made me cringe. As for Leo, yes I also feel the arrogant vibe from him and the gas-lighting comments, however, I personally could overlook that knowing he still had/has unfinished work within himself, and focus on the main overarching themes and golden nuggets he was pointing to, he did mention that himself regarding other teachers, ignore the minutia and focus on the point they're trying to get across. Anyways, good to see people going against the grain on here finally and calling out some of these issues, hopefully with the result of drastic improvements.
  21. @ThePoint look for the reasons why you aren't doing the things that would help you move forward, sit down, and have a think. write it down. Pick your mind
  22. @integral She answers her own question here. There's the golden nugget. Validate her feelings and ask her would she like advice from you? Some people (a lot) just want to vent and moan, therefore not actually wanting to do anything about it.
  23. @Revolutionary Think do you see why she is why she is? And acts the way she does? From a holistic perspective?
  24. Leo, the exercise you had us do, the vulnerable child exercise in which you asked us how loved we felt given how you treated us- when it got to the loving example, I began to cry, and I cried so deeply throughout the entire list of loving examples you gave. And then I realised you were also crying. The love that that lost generated and how I felt really drilled home all you had said before. I realised that yes, love is actually selflessness. Also, it's amazing how the mind reacted to you personally with the example, I felt so close to you, and I know this is not because of anything that has happened, but simply because of how the love list you gave made me feel, loved. I also, realised that it isn't other that actually makes us feel anything, be it loved or hatred. Other is simply reinforcing the love that the individual already is. Beautiful, genuinely. Thank you for the video. And thank you for being so vulnerable.
  25. I am living proof of this. I have reignited the awe, wonder and joy in life, even in a blade of grass. Edit: I think the reason we disconnect from this (I don't believe it is ever gone) is through conditioning of social and cultural norms, and how one manages the pressures that arise as we become more responsible for ourselves (job/house etc) and others (children/elderly parents) etc). Edit: also how we deal with trauma from both the present and as a child.
