They want to create a clear distinction between duality and non-duality

To be fair to her she wasnt creating a duality because her stance was that there is no relativity its all an illusion the only thing that actually exists is the absolute. So she thought I was lost in duality which she kept saying. I responded by saying it's impossible not to as language by its very nature is dualistic. She rolled her eyes at this because to her it isnt dualistic as it is an illusion within the one. At this point I had to end the conversation as I feel we weren't getting anywhere. xD

  2. Yea I felt terrible energy when I was on the forum talking to her. Generally I dont get that on this forum. I wonder what thats all about? Could it be that Im in my comfort zone on he actualized forum and im just getting confirmation bias? Or maybe its the lack of the live chat function. Also i feel actualized looks at the psychology of people as well as spirituality. And this forum is policed.

    Nice profile picture @traveler

@andyjohnsonman ah blissful ignorance. Was once like that when I went through my awakening. “Why aren’t you all in love? He died! Who cares! Smile and laugh with me”

yeah it’s a phase. It will pass for most people and tbh it’s just a different worldview. Neither are more correct then the other however one can be more pure then the other.

understanding that both are just functions within this oneness is being able to be at peace no matter what.

You sound very stage yellow ?

  4. Yea i thought so. She was being quite closed minded and not being able to see this point. I feel that this is a trap in this work. I remember this stage green hippie in India was late for the boat that we were all waiting for. He said dont worry time is a construct in absolute oneness. I was like maybe thats the case but we are here right now and the other 20 people on the boat have all agreed to these rules of imagination so quickly get on the boat so we can go sightseeing!

  5. I was just on The Buddha at the Gas Pump facebook forum and the topic of spirtuality and politics came up. I got in a conversation with someone who said,  "Non-duality is knowing that you are not the human, you've always thought yourself to be... and that all other things outside of you, including humans, left and right wings.. flowers, birds, trees".

I told her that there is a relative world in which pragmatic survival is on the line and decisions need to be made.

She said its all an illusion and there is no difference between left and right wing.

I said that the oneness holds all which includes duality, which means that there is dualism within non dualism and Im focussing on that dualism within non dualism which she is disregardiing.

She couldnt seem to get past the fact that its all an illusion and therefore voting is pointless.

Is the relative world an illusion? The Yn Yang symbol signifies dualism within non duality all of which are happening and real.

I tried to explain this by asking if there is no dualism then why is there night and day? There is a relative world that is wrapped up within the non dual world even if it is an illusion from the relative perspective it is real.

She could only see the non dual absolute persective and there fore thought why vote. I then said if everything is one then why eat? Because there is only you.

What do you think to this conversation?

    Who is right?

On a brighter note this forum is much less argumentative. I think its because it isn't a live forum like on facebook. The live feel somehow seems to bring about more dogmatism even from me!

  6. Leo is just giving his experiences and what feels real to him. He says don't believe it unless you verify it for yourself, so don't believe it unless you verify it for yourself! I have learnt a lot from actualized (psychology, epistemology, philosophy etc ). I just take the metaphysical things he has experienced with a grain of salt and do the practices (which I have learnt from here) to look into whether they stand any ground.

Time to lock this shit up now. Ludicrous debate. I’m really hoping that I don’t sit down on a Sunday to a video of what I hope are some good teachings and something to contemplate, or something of good practical work, to end end up seeing this issue addressed. The minute I hear of this situation is the minute I press stop on the video. This nonsense is not what it’s all about. This seriously is a distraction. I’m not here to read about adeptus or whatever his name is. I’d never heard of this guy until you lot posted about him. Now I’m seeing this shite distract myself from the genuine teachings. Because everytime I load up the forum the most recent posts generally involve this shit. I just want to investigate reality. Leo is useful for this. This adeptus guy isn’t. He just wants to argue, ego orientated and it’s wasting my time. Lock the thread and be done with it??

Anyone you follow you should read a critique of so you don't fall into confirmation bias. Adeptus raises some good points in his recent video with Martin Ball and if you aren't open to looking at that then you are falling into many traps that Leo himself talks about in his videos.

  8. Ive been deeply in this stage now for about 5 years and it feels confusing. It feels like I can't ever know the answers to what I want with my life because everything is relative. Here are some examples or the way my mind works -  Do I want a girlfriend or not? Well maybe I do but can I believe my thoughts maybe they are all self deceptions. Maybe the idea of a self deception is a deception.

Maybe just drop all these concepts. Should I keep the job I have now? My life is passing me by but what is time? What about all these concerns? They are just thoughts in the mind. Should I focus on them and make choices or let life flow naturally? I can observe my thoughts which often makes the thoughts disperse but i still need to make decisions.   I basically just come up with questions without any answers which just becomes confusing. I remember Leo talked about this in his 9 stages of ego development in the Pluralistic stage. Ive been here for a while and it seems confusing that there are no answers or concretes.

For a lot of my stage orange friends they don't have these problems. They just fall into life which they haven't designed for themselves settle find a job and a girl and seem content.

Can anyone relate to this or have any comments?
