I just came across this novel Route of Administration (ROA) for 5-MeO-DMT: nebulization https://erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=37491 Basically you inhale a mist made from a 5-MeO-DMT (in salt form) solution. I'd really like to try this ROA. It's reported to be a bit more drawn out than vapourized. I'm not sure how would be the best way to nebulize it, if anyone has any ideas, please share!

Good stuff, that was a great post, and I appreciate your writing on this forum in general @Arthur @CreamCat I just wrote something in a similar same vein on a thread started by KieranPerez, but I actually think LSD is generally a better candidate as a psychedelic tool for "life-purpose" than 5-MeO-DMT is, although Arthur's point above ^ is totally valid. 5-MeO-DMT is very metaphysical, LSD is more in the physical plane, where life-purpose tends to take place. edit: a question for you @Arthur: how do you see yourself using 5-MeO-DMT moving forward? Do you plan to continue to use it fairly regularly, or put it aside for a while or what? -

You can just eat them, they don't taste so bad, especially if it's your first time. Somehow they taste worse and worse the more you eat them 1g is a mild trip. I actually really like 1g of mushrooms, but you might want to do around 2g for your first trip just to get the full impact, like PsiloPutty said. On the other hand if you're feeling at all cautious about the whole thing, there's no harm in taking just 1g. You can always take more next time. I don't recommend a fully empty (fasted) stomach going into a trip. IMO it's important to have some blood sugar circulating to keep the vibes good. I think it's better to eat lightly leading up to the trip so you're not starving, but definitely not anywhere near full. Good to have some fruit or some very very light easy food ready in case you need an energy bump during your trip. -

Yeah I think they can help you discover your direction, what you want. They sure did (and still do) for me anyways. There are no guarantees, psychedelics aren't causative, they are facilitative. But they're very good facilitators! They can also help you see what you don't want, thing like neuroses, unproductive thought patterns, low quality habits can become painfully obvious. Fresh awareness of stuff we've trained ourselves to tune out which makes it easier to make the changes that we need to move forward. Sometimes it's these things that are blocking us from our direction. Personally, I think your idea of using LSD is spot on, it seems like a good fit for the kind of question you have. 5-MeO-DMT is more metaphysical in nature. LSD is so good at helping people to become more of themselves, pointing people in the right direction. "LSD is just a tool to turn us into what we are supposed to be." --Albert Hofmann -
@lostmedstudent I've only used the HCL, but there's no reason that I know of that the oxalate would be inferior. Someone pointed out that because the oxalate form is new on the market it's very likely to be a freshly made batch, so if I was ordering now I'd probably go for that one. Although the HCL that's around now is also likely a fresh batch anyways so .. shrug.. 6 of one half doz of the other kinda thing.

Re: the "100 times stronger" reputation, comparing 5-MeO-DMT to any other psychedelic is an apples and oranges kind of thing. It depends on how much you take, where you go with your trip, and so on. One thing for sure is that 5-MeO-DMT is the closest thing to a direct line to god that I've ever come across anyways. You really have to go with your own guts on this question of if you're ready for it or not. I don't think you need to have tons of trips under your belt to benefit from 5-MeO-DMT, but I do think that meditation experience helps navigate 5-MeO-DMT. Other psychedelic trips are a really good warmup too, so I think you're going about it the right way. Besides, LSD and other psychedelics are great teachers in their own right. The cool thing about 5-MeO-DMT is that you don't have to jump all the way in at the deep end, it's totally fine (and recommended) to work with it, work your way up in dosage. How did I approach it? In my particular case I've taken over a hundred trips on various psychedelics over the last 2+ decades, and I've been meditating (very casually, I don't want to exaggerate my level of commitment) for about as long. A couple of years ago I realized I'd been overlooking 5-MeO-DMT and that I wanted to try it. I think i stepped my dose up over 4 trials until I had a breakthrough at 20mg (insufl). I actually had a mini-breakthrough at 12mg or so that informed me I was on the right track. I also tried 22mg more recently, which was a non-breakthrough experience. There's more to it than just the dosage. -
That's your meaning of marriage, and it sounds like a very good one, but I'm not sure it's how most cultures of the world view marriage. Of course everyone is free to create their own meaning, that's the point of the magical ceremony I was just trying to state the broadest sweeping generalization for what marriage is about at it's core, for most people.
-
The act of marriage is a magical ceremony to sanctify an exclusive sexual relationship. In practice it can be a solid base to grow a family from. Officially stepping out of the dating sphere with your chosen partner allows you to put attention on other priorities.

If you wanted to split a blotter in 10 like people do for microdosing, or split a batch into liquid for arbitrary dosing (rather than being stuck with the amount applied to each blotter) you can use this volumetric method. Just leave the blotter in whatever tiny amount of solvent you can measure and subsequently subdivide. You can leave the blotter in there permanently, it eventually just disintegrates into fibers. Vodka is good because the ethanol prevents bacterial growth, and the water should hopefully be free of chlorine. Just be sure to double check your numbers, and use your common sense when measuring. People have accidentally 10x their dose by forgetting a 0, stuff like that. -

Don't let yourself become intimidated. It's really not such a big deal to allow your mind to be shattered, and for all of reality to collapse into a singularity. Seriously though, let go, accept the experience, no resistance, you'll be fine. -
You add it to an acid, which reacts with the freebase to form a salt. An easy and foodsafe way if you're going to plug it is to add it to some plain old vinegar. It should react with the acid in the vinegar and form an (acetate?) salt in solution. Someone more knowledgeable on the chemistry will pipe in I'm sure, hopefully with some precise method.

I love this thought experiment. Will come back and report after I've had the chat.

Agreed. Talk cheapens it anyways. There's really no experience aside from direct experience, the rest is abstraction (which is actually just another variety of direct experience of the mind/thought/intellect/etc). -

@Dan94 I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never done my own reagent tests. I've watched other people do them but never performed my own. I'm very careful about my sources, and always make sure that the vendor is well trusted and reviewed in the community. I also have taken samples in to be tested with mass spectrometry, which tends to be more accurate than reagent tests anyways. Anyways, you wouldn't need to test every single blotter, just a portion of a single blotter from a batch will be fine. I'm a bit confused by your question, just want to make sure you know that you don't go by the weight of the blotter since it's mostly just paper. If you have bought blotters that are already dosed, and you trust the prep of those blotters there's not much point in doing the liquid volumetric dosing, unless you were doing it for microdosing or something. You're very unlikely to find blotters with 250µg of LSD on them, that would be stupid large blotter doses. If you have dissolved LSD into liquid you can store it in a little cleaned amber dropper bottle. Make sure you don't use chlorinated water or leave it in the sun or heat. If your doses are still on blotter paper, just keep them somewhere cool and dry. Maybe I need you to rephrase your question if i'm not answering you very well. -
When @Emerald types up one of her long ass posts, it's totally worth reading. Good observation. I never thought about that dynamic of how men's attraction starts at the loins and moves up, whereas women's attraction starts at the head and moves down. Of course this is archetypes, real people are more of a mixture and complex. @F A B I really like that book, but I think like Leo said, you have to take everything with a pinch of salt, you can't be too literal about anything you read. Also, it sounds very likely that you have shed a relationship that wasn't quite of the quality you're looking for.

Valid topic! It's really easy to dish out those sorts of replies. It's worth taking a good look at our own motivation for the words we choose IRL and on this forum. Look out for: regurgitation trying to appear in a particular way giving advice that the recipient isn't ready for Of course nothing's inherently bad about saying these sorts of things. It's just more of the same game we humans are always playing. -

@TobyI don't know, this is just from what I've observed in myself and people around me. Yeah maybe alcohol helps some people, kind of doubt it though. It mostly seems to cloud judgement and bring out the worst in people IME. I'm not a puritan or anything, I drink occasionally myself, but I do think I'd generally be a better and healthier person if I didn't. -
outlandish replied to Dan94's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Dan94 The way you measure extremely potent chemicals like LSD with standard milligram scales is by using liquid volumetric measurement. Basically you weigh out a measurable quantity of the drug, then you dissolve it all in liquid. Then you can measure off portions of that liquid for individual doses. For example: Say you have 10mg of LSD. You weight that on your scale (+/- 1mg say). You then dissolve the LSD in 10mL of pure distilled water, or ethanol. Now you have a solution of 1mg per 1mL of liquid. Using a pipette or precise syringe you can measure off 0.1mL doses of your solution, which will each contain 90-110µg of LSD - a standard but fairly strong dose of LSD. -

Alan Watts was enlightened despite his relationship with alcohol, certainly not because of it. Not saying any of us disagree, just want to point this out for readers. Sometimes people turn to alcohol as a reaction against awakening. It's like an ego backlash in a way, it's a gauze mask that dulls the intensity of truth and brings us back to comfortable safe unrealized self. -

When I was about 5 my parents were meditating a lot and they shared a storybook about the life of the Buddha, and it talked about how he became enlightened. I only partially grasped it, but I think it made a bit of sense intuitively at that age. I remember trying to meditate with them and being very distracted, not being able to sit still, and my parents telling me not to worry about it because I was already enlightened haha. I think I did actually understand that enlightenment was inherent but that I was unable to realize it, and that my parents were kind of letting me off the hook, if that makes sense. So I think a young child can understand these things a bit, but I also think that it's unnecessary. More important at that age, I feel, is just to help them in the nitty gritty of attachments and emotions, help them deal with their own suffering in those moments, and model the right approach to life. My kids are about the same age as yours, and that's my approach right now anyways. They've done a little bit of meditation and I think they kind of get it. It's never something that I put on them, just up to them. -

Nice report @Adilbek! Yes this stuff definitely works haha I love how you are carefully working your way up in dosage with this, that's exactly the way to approach it. Don't worry too much about checking out the "visuals" on 5-MeO-DMT, what you do see can mostly be regarded as a distraction, and it's not really meant to be to visual (compared to other classical psychedelics) anyways. Personally, I'm like @Arthur in that my 5-MeO-DMT trips have been very peaceful externally. I like to tell the people that I live with what I'm doing for my own peace of mind, just so that I don't feel like I'm hiding something, rather than for their benefit. If you don't feel like you need to inform your housemates you may find that you're fairly peaceful on it as well as you work up in dose. Once I had a big breakthrough, and emitted the deepest belly laugh as I came out of the realization and back into the dual+ universe. I was sure I woke up the whole house because the dogs in the neighbourhood started barking in a chain reaction! They heard me for sure, but in the morning none of the people in my house noticed. -

I think some ayahuasca brews contain 5-MeO-DMT as is - The classic ayahuasca brew is made from DMT + an MAOI, but sometimes the shaman adds 5- MeO-DMT plants too, or even really dangerous ones like scopolamine deleriants. Ayahuasca can be a real shit mix of drugs, I find it really sketchy and probably won't ever bother. Most people have extremely positive experiences with ayahuasca, and there's good reason for it's surge of popularity, but I don't think it's for me. -

Leo's right, it's better to not combine psychedelics. There are enough variables just working with one, let alone when you start combining them. There are safety concerns with certain types of combos as well, so you really need to do your homework if you go down that route. @Cudin your combo sounds pretty safe to me, although ginko gives me a headache so I never use it myself. MDMA is extremely well studied now, it's one of the most studied pharmaceuticals, currently in US Phase 3 trials for treating PTSD. It does not appear to have negative long-term side effects when used sparingly, and is destined to become a powerful tool for psychiatric treatment. It won't be harmful to take a moderate dose a few times in your life. It's a drug that does have some teaching to offer, especially when used in a professional therapeutic setting. It's lessons are in the realm of acceptance, love, non-judgement, which can be really powerful for people suffering from trauma, PTSD, addiction etc. However, despite this knowledge, personally I don't trust MDMA much and have only taken it a handful of times. I find that the true psychedelics have much more to offer, are safer to use, and don't have negative side-effects.
