  1. I don't like it. Context is inherently subjective. Feelings have no place in data and statistics. To some degree we already do this "what does this data mean to me" thing which taints most studies. This idea would just crank that up to 11. This is how you end up with studies saying that obese people can still be healthy.
  2. Lower attention span and messed up dopamine/serotonin will destroy your ability to do any meaningful work, and severely limit success many other areas of your life. Not just spiritual / self actualization stuff. That's the least of your problems when you can't concentrate long enough to read the chapter of a book, or work at something for 8 hours.
  3. You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize? [Takes a bite of steak] Ignorance is bliss.
  4. Yes. I am real, actually reading your post, and have my own life. However, I'm also lying.
  5. I have a pretty good idea of what Twitter could look like if it really becomes "free" again -- Take a look at the comment section of any video on Bitchute, Odysee, or Rumble. If the price of freedom is having people online regularly insulting my physical appearance in my replies, or talking about 5G microchip nanobots, that's a price I'm willing to accept though.
  6. Just pay your fair share, man. Nevermind all those loopholes in the tax law where we've literally legalized ways for rich people to pay little/no taxes. No need to reverse them and remove the laws off the books. That would actually fix the problem. Why make it mandatory? Let's just leave it up to corporations to do the right thing and pay their fair share, man. Surely slight social pressure while continuing to do business with them will make them voluntarily give up billions of free dollars, right?
  7. I don't understand how the same person who made the 4-part conscious politics series could even say stuff like this. I feel like this level of bias can only be reached by someone watching hours of Vaush, breadtubers, or similar per day who has basically isolated themselves in a left-wing echo chamber. I think even the average mostly-centrist normie who hates Trump would see this as extremely biased. These statements are just not based in reality. This is pure Trump Derangement Syndrome. *Admittedly I'm extremely right-wing biased (albeit not a big Trump fan either). You see that video of Biden trying to shake hands with the air after his speech today and then looking around confused before walking off stage? I don't know how anyone can still deny that he has dementia and is unfit for office. To anybody who's had relatives with a neurodegenerative disease it's plain as day. Welp that's post #1000 for me, time to peace out for a bit.
  8. "Abs are made in the kitchen" You don't get lean from exercise, you get lean from eating lean. Get down to 15% body fat from diet (or I guess you can go jog for 4 hours a day instead if you'd rather but personally I'd rather just not eat.) Then if you want to get extra lean you can cut out white carbs and stuff to temporarily lose water weight and puffiness.
  9. Walk around your neighborhood on the night before garbage day. People are always throwing out coffee tables, chairs, microwaves, all kinds of stuff. Half the time there's nothing wrong with it, they're just getting rid of it because they got something better. Grab that stuff and list it on Facebook Marketplace / Craigslist / whatever. Even if you just sell every item for $10 each, sell 25 items and you've got the Life Purpose Course. Then use the Life Purpose Course to figure out what you want to do to make your first $1,000. Or look around your room for stuff you don't want any more. You probably have more than $250 worth of junk laying around. You get 250 free eBay listings per month, just start selling it all.
  10. The only time I have more than a couple tabs open is if I'm looking at porn, or when I come to this forum I open each section and then go through them individually. So basically either for physical or mental masturbation. Bookmark stuff that's important or that you come back to frequently, realize the stuff you can just let go or look up again later. Cluttered desktop icons, tabs, etc are probably a symptom of a cluttered mind. If you're researching something, open up 5 or 10 tabs, extract the information, then close them. Why would you ever need to keep tabs open for days straight? If it's about not having to enter passwords or something, just use autofill so you can sign into anything with a click. Having 10 tabs open takes about 1 GB of RAM. People with like 30 tabs open, I don't know how their computer even functions. Plus once you open enough tabs, the words disappear and you can't even see what they are any more. Then you're wasting time looking through tabs just to see what they are. Don't just have one long list of bookmarks either. Both that and having 50 tabs open are both very boomer things to do. Make folders and group stuff. Learn good browser hygiene.
  11. Here's a video of novelist Chris Fox going over his income for last year. He's not a famous author per se. Not a household name, it's unlikely that you've ever heard of him. But he made $190k gross from writing last year, $250k the year before that. He's not a sellout or a slave to just following the money, he writes what he loves: epic fantasy, space fantasy, even a comedy based on Dungeons & Dragons. And he makes a great living doing it. Of course part of his success is taking a bit of time to learn about business, marketing, etc. But he has no educational background in marketing, he's a former computer programmer who quit to become a writer. So if he can figure it out, you can too. Note that a lot of his "on paper" expenses like hiring an editor, cover designer, etc is stuff that he pays his own wife to do. So that money is staying in his household, he's being smart about it and taking advantage of individual tax brackets to keep more of his money within his family. Also it might look insane and unfathomable that he's spending over a thousand dollars a month on advertising, but realize he didn't get to that spot overnight. He started with nothing and built up slowly over the past 6+ years, figuring out what worked and what didn't with trial and error along the way. Make small bets. If you think he's a super lucky exception to the rule -- he's not. There are plenty of unknown writers living out their life purpose of writing, making $100k or more a year and loving it, without even having a publisher or agent to report to. Take note if you're a writer, artist, or any other creative career path where it's assumed that you'll spend your life starving and in squalor for your vision. It doesn't have to be that way.
  12. Can you explain what they are referring to as djinn? Demons? Spirits? Interdimensional beings? All of the above? Is it one specific type of supernatural creature, or just a general term? Are the Jinn the equivalent of our ideas of illuminati, or reptilians, or something similar in the West? Is Satan a Jinn? In the video after the word Jinn they just put (supernatural) in brackets. Or refer to them as "spirits / unseen entities" in general. He says most of the Jinn people are aware of are bad, implying there are good ones too? If fear is the opposite of faith, why do they put so many jumpscares and scary imagery into this video? ngl those amulets look pretty dope tho
  13. Why didn't they do it the other way and make CNN viewers watch Fox for 30 days? I guess losing 10 viewers would be way too big of a hit to their viewership.
  14. Official inflation numbers are not really a useful metric at this point. They can change what items are or aren't included in the consumer price index, which is used to determine inflation. Look at the original post... inflation was 8.5% in March on paper, but anyone actually doing shopping is seeing price increases of 100% on many items already. So the only way to get real inflation numbers is to make a sheet of historical prices for various items and compare them over time. It might even be area-specific and certain things might be going up in price in your state or country but not others. It's not just the inflation that cripples you anyway, it's the deflation that comes afterwards too. During the Great Depression, prices of everything actually dropped 20-25%, because nobody had money to buy anything. Falling prices mean less profit for businesses, which means lower incomes and higher unemployment for workers. It turns into a reinforcing circle that's very hard to break. There's too many moving parts for me to try and guess where things will be in 2 or 3 years. I just have a feeling that more likely than not, things are going to get pretty bad this winter. I felt the same for the past 2 years, and they've kept artificially pushing it back. But all the warning signs just keep getting worse and worse. First they denied there was inflation, then it was transitory, then it was just for a little bit, then they acknowledge it's worse than expected but surely we must be near the peak. Now even world leaders are warning of food shortages. Delaying doesn't make it go away, it's just building up over time and getting harder to hide or continue pushing back. Eventually has to all come undone.
  15. There's a bullwhip effect coming... all those goods that were sitting offshore on ships or unable to be transported are about to flood the market. For a little bit, prices will seem to stop inflating or maybe even drop for a bit. Goods will be in abundance. It'll look like all the economic problems are behind us and everything is back to normal. But really this is like being in the eye of the storm. This is maybe your last chance to stock up on whatever you want and need before the next big downturn. Since shops will be full of goods, they won't be placing orders and manufacturers will start ramping down production. When shops finally run out and go to re-order, there's going to be another wave of shortages. Things are going to look good again and people will feel comfortable starting to put money into savings. What they don't realize is that this will slow the economy down even more as they're taking more money out of circulation. Higher interest rates, more savings. All the goods on the market get consumed and there's nothing to spend the money on. Then there's nobody manufacturing, then there's nobody working. Then the real depression begins. I'm giving it more or less 6 months at this point unless something big changes. You should be finishing your preparations. You've had since March 2020 when you first saw the toilet paper madness to see how fragile our supply chains are. Unless you have investments that are making 8% a month or more, it's time to start putting your excess money into physical goods you can actually use. If you have enough money, buy land and real estate. If you're a normal person, I would buy at least a couple months worth of nonperishable food... bags of rice, pasta, etc. and stock them away for the hard times that are coming. Deodorant, shampoo, soap, garbage bags... whatever you're constantly consuming that doesn't have an expiry date and doesn't take up a ton of space, stock it up. If you see any items like that on sale, pick up 4 or 5, or whatever you need for the next year or two. In this scenario, counterintuitively buying as much as you can is how you actually save money. Because if you buy that stuff now, you won't have to pay 30% more for it in a couple months. If you need to buy a new lawnmower, or a new pair of shoes, or to buy a bunch of lumber for repairs and renovations, or anything else, now is the time to do it. If you're already running short on money, idk, I guess pick up some extra shifts or take an extra part-time job while you have the chance. Then don't save that money, immediately invest it into goods.
  16. Great video. When I saw the post title I was already going to mention Ted K before even clicking through, so I'm glad it's a focal point of the video. I think everyone should read Ted Kaczynski's Industrial Society and Its Future. This video gives a good overview but I still recommend reading the whole thing. You can find a free PDF online or even an audiobook version on Youtube if you don't want to read it. Disclaimer, Uncle Ted was a terrorist that mailed bombs to people to get his message out, which I don't advocate. But the ideas are something you don't really hear from anybody else in the modern world, and are worth consideration. Personally I fall somewhere in between. I don't want to live without my Baconators and CRUNCHWRAP SUPREMES, let alone modern medical care. But I think we can make burgers and tacos without organization-dependent technology. And now that we have most of our medical research advancements, I feel like it's mostly theory that we can apply with just drugs and blunt instruments, without the need for $500,000 machines. I definitely don't want to live in a society with TikTok though. I don't think anyone can argue that we are oversocialized by Dr K's definition. I think modern technology has gone too far, but I don't want to go so extreme that I have to become Amish again either. For me the sweet spot would be to live in the year 1999 perpetually, but that's partially because I'm addicted to the internet and wouldn't want to give it up, even if I had to go back to 56k modems. But I'd be willing to go back to the 80s, or even the 50s, in order to live a more ideal life that's significantly more free from organization-dependent technology. That wouldn't be good enough for Ted since we'd still have cars, radio, etc etc but it's a good enough compromise for me.
  17. There's several ways to stop the media doing this right now. But they have too much money and power to be easily stopped. Normally they're helping out the people in charge so it'd be career suicide to turn on them. It will take a real heroic "for the people" politician to finally put their foot down.
  18. Almost everything has already been done. The life purpose of most people is to improve on what's already been created. In this area there's definitely still room for innovation. This is like Elon getting disheartened and deciding to not make SpaceX because NASA already existed. Or Bezos not making Blue Origin because SpaceX already existed. Or Moderna dropping their whole vaccine program because Pfizer got theirs out first. There is always room in pretty much any market for more than one competitor. Get out of the mindset that they "stole" the idea. These people have never heard that you exist, you arent the first person to have the idea, and if they're at this stage they've probably been working on it before you thought of it for the first time.
  19. It doesn't go far enough. I don't think kids should be taught about such topics until they begin puberty, around age 12 on average. (I realize some girls can get periods earlier, but 12 is the average.) The more I learn about forcing LGBT stuff on children, the more I'm coming to the conclusion that it's literally child abuse. I think with enough time and parent outrage, society will eventually swing back against it and some of these school officials might end up in jail for what they've done. I consider it sexual grooming of a minor. Definition: manipulate perceptions of children so they comply with sexual requests or demands I realize the DSM5 no longer considers homosexuality or being trans as a mental disorder, but I disagree. Both meet the definition of a paraphilia. And that's fine, people with mental illness deserve to exist and live in our society without facing discrimination. But we aren't forced to humor the delusions of any other mentally ill group in our society. We don't let foot fetish people in our schools to proselytize about how it's natural to have a foot fetish, fly foot fetish flags out front. We don't tell kids that 18% of people have engaged in coprophilia (using human shit for sexual pleasure.) I don't want schools glorifying mental illness or pushing kids toward any of these as an equally valid and normal option. In most cases of 8 year olds having an issue with being misgendered or thinking they're gay, you can put 2 and 2 together and see that it's probably because dad is no longer in the picture to act as a voice of reason. It's almost always single moms or existing LGBT people with their own trauma (or teachers) forcing their problems onto kids. Very rarely does an 8 year old come to the level of certainty about their sexuality that they want to change their name or pronouns all on their own.
  20. I get a lot of post-delusion clarity. It's like post-nut clarity, but where you realize how delusional you were being after the fact, or when discussing with someone and they point out flaws in your ideas / facts. So I'd say the best way is to talk to someone who challenges your views, who you also respect. If I'm honest, even in the moment there's usually a nagging in the back of my head that I might not being rational or objective though. Like a slight "feels too good to be true" warning going off.
  21. Sugar is not just one thing. Don't lump together processed sugar, raw sugar, glucose, fructose, glucose-fructose, high fructose corn syrup, honey, maple syrup, artificial sweeteners as all being equal. I'm starting a 5-day juicing regiment tomorrow. Do you think I'm going to feel better or worse after juicing 33 apples, 10 oranges, 10 pears, 3 cups of blueberries, (plus tons of vegetables)? By my count I'm going to be consuming an average of about 200 grams of sugar per day from freshly-juiced fruit for the next 5 days, fiber completely removed. And once all the initial detox symptoms wear off I bet I'm going to feel better than I have in years. Sugar is not the enemy.
  22. I wouldn't use those parties as your primary form of pickup. If you want to stay in touch with any of these people after high school, I'd keep going to the parties just to stay in touch. If you stop going to stuff enough times in a row, people just stop asking, then you lose friends and become isolated by default. Truth be told, I think most people fall out of touch with most of their friends from school though. So you probably might as well stay home and work on something more useful, especially if you don't enjoy being there or partake in most of the activities anyway. If you're 16 in America then you still have 5 years before you can get into bars/clubs. So I would specifically look into day game, how to pick up women at places during the day, and focus entirely on that instead. Then pick up girls at school, or spend your time walking around the mall doing pickup instead of at parties.
  23. Right now a VW Golf because it came included for free with my wife. In the past I've only ever owned Toyotas, and when buying my own cars in the future I'd only ever buy a Toyota, Honda, or Subaru again. The Japanese can make a vehicle like nobody else. Most American cars are unreliable garbage. Jeep is notoriously among the worst. Chrysler, Chevrolet, Ford are all pretty bad too. If you're American, don't let other Americans guilt you into buying American because it's unpatriotic to do otherwise or some garbage. (I don't know if this is a thing everywhere or only from my time spent in/around Detroit because of all the auto jobs there.) Korean cars like Kia and Hyundai are kinda garbage too. European cars are somewhere in the middle, but I think you'll usually pay more for parts in NA. I've had dumb stuff happen with my Golf like the gas gauge just randomly stop working so I ran out of fuel in the middle of the road when the gauge said the tank was still half full so I can't recommend them either. If you want a prestige car like a BMW/Mercedes I'd get a Lexus (made by Toyota) instead. If you want a reliable vehicle with minimal maintenance and repairs, get a Toyota. Go ask any general mechanic what kind of cars they see the most and least problems with and see for yourself. In the past I would've always recommended buying used. At the moment used cars are so expensive though that it might be worth buying new, especially if you can get a 5-year warranty and free oil changes included and 0 or near-0% interest. That might change back to recommending used in the future if supply issues and the economy clears up again though.
  24. Can we just make "goodbye" posts against the rules already, and ban people who make them. Otherwise I'm going to start a "Quit the forum and came back" shame list in my signature of everybody who has quit and tally how many times each has quit and returned. It's fucking embarrassing for a supposedly high-consciousness forum, that when you leave you either need to throw a temper tantrum on the way out or get pats on the back. It's the internet, just go.
