In my opinion, an important articulation to be made is to be more passionate, not to find something that you think will make you more passionate. There is no reason you can't be passionate about everything. I just ate toast. It was my favorite part of the day! I listened to some PD on the way to work, and it was the best part of my day! I talked with my team and we planned, focus, laughed- it was the best part of my day! I took my mom to the dr's, it felt great to be able to help, it was the best part of my day! I'm loving the insights I'm getting from this forum, and I love giving love to it, it's the best part of my day!

Love the way this thread reads. Glad you're back in the drivers seat buddy. Anyone can love any job, this is practicing mindfulness. Anyone can find another job, this is also practicing mindfulness. You left a job to pursue PD. Leaving the job is practicing PD. So is practicing PD. So is finding another job. It's all experience, it's a PD, on some level.

@Marc Schinkel Sidhartha had enormous wealth at the ready, anytime he wanted it. I know he did not want it, but you have to admit, very different scenario. Shift your thinking away from what Leo may or may not be thinking, and get back to thinking what you think. Seems like you may just want to marry your life's purpose with sufficient income. I dig and relate to what Leo is doing. I own a business with 6 employees and I have always delegated all the functions and done none myself. This free's me to contribute the way I want to and plays to my strengths. I enjoy contributing to their life path. Some days they would say I'm a pompous ass and some days they would say they had a revolation from a convo we had. The point is, I'm not thinking from their perspective, I'm thinking from mine. What Leo has made here, I think it would serve the world well to follow his example. What if everyone said "No. No. No, I'm not going to get a 'job' and 'work' and look forward to being happy when I retire. I'm going to support myself doing something that means something to me." That's a world we could all trip happily on.

@Mats It's a large store. When people in southern US say Mars and Miejers, it sounds the same.

Beliefs are thoughts we repeat. Values are beliefs we repeat. Write that list on a wall in your house. Read it many times daily. Try to feel great when you read it and be mindful not to hold on to any resistance feeling. We are what we repeat. Think about it this way, whatever values you currently have, are because you have been repeating that you have them. Nothing more.

@Morten Nailed it! @jse Life is truly, but a dream. Rock on bro.

@Wind Awesomeness. If you see something pleasing you smile, if you fake a smile for a couple minutes, you feel happy. If you accomplish something you feel great, if you feel great you accomplish something. The key is feeling. Meditate and focus on how you feel. Grow it or expand it as much as you can. Just focus on feeling, the physical sensation within, as wonderful as you can for no reason other than it feels great, and everything in your life will be like the smile.

This is really a great thread. Good for all of you. Just acknowledging you have room for improvement and want to start is 99%! Godspeed everyone. Here's an admittedly unsolicited tip that took me a very long time to figure out, even though it probably sounds simple.... Excercise then meditate first thing in the morning. Get up whenever you need to. Will power is highest in the morning and fades through the day. The brain makes adrenaline and cortisol (stress and anxiety chemicals) at night. 50 minutes of cardio burns it all up, so when stress triggers occur in your day, you see them and notice that you are no longer having a stress reaction at all. Run for 50 minutes. This is a magic number because your brain and body chemistry changes dramatically, pumping the euphoric chemical cocktail through your brain and body. Meditate right after the 50 minutes so you experience the awesomeness going on in your brain and body more. I have found that this combo, every morning, raises my probability of doing things I want to get done, or creating things, or writing songs, by around a trillion billion. After sometime of this, you won't be able to remember what it was like when you were living less consciously and not doing everything you want, and not perceiving that you were creating your life. The only drawback is that you will have to hear people talk about "getting old" etc, blaming their alements on age. You will have to keep quiet knowing it is not an age problem they have, but a fitness of the body and mind problem they have. Some 87 year olds run marathons. Some 20 year olds are in the hospital due to their weight.

I don't know what perfect is, but I feel authentic. I don't care if my views are popular. Most people don't know what I know, and the world peppers me with this gift. But, to try to give an answer to your question, I suppose the perfect me is without a single resistant thought, ever. But, then, that means there would be no experience either.

Replace thoughts if you obsess about thoughts, and replace habits if you obsess on habits. Start excercising every morning and make a 10 point routine to follow. Lace your shoes specifically left then right. Do 5 stretches in the same order every morning. ETC. Focus that acute energy on behavior that is beneficial to you. Use what you got! The exercise will greatly improve the anxiety. I'm not a doctor of course, but I had bad anxiety when I was younger and I tried everything. The only thing that worked was a morning routine / ritual of excercise and meditation (and stopped eating sugar & bad carbs) Aniexty has been completely gone ever since. About 20 years. What I learned, for me, is that when you want to be doing something for yourself, and you're not, you have anxiety. It's a sneaky bugger though because it's right in your perception so it seems like you were "born with it" or like it's being triggered from some thing or situation. If you stop and think about it though, where is the anxiety? It in you. So is happiness. Try to see it as a gift of desire for bettering yourself that is so powerful it will not resolve until you start doing for yourself what you want to do for yourself. Another way to be free of anxiety is to make a list of blinders. A good friend who knows you well can be helpful. Just write down two lists; one of what you're doing, and another of what you want to be doing. When they don't match, you have found your opportunity to align with your desires for self and be free of the anxiety. Example: Do you want to be someone who smokes cigarettes? NO. Do you smoke cigarettes? Yes. Then you have a blinder. You have perceived reality in such a way as to accommodate your smoking. The anxiety is telling you that you are unaligned with your desire to be carcinogen free. When you are conscious of it, it is no longer a habit. Replace it with a beneficial habit, like taking deep breathes, stretching, meditating, drinking water, etc.

I once road my bike 300 miles for a charity. I raised a lot of money for kids. It took 33 hours. It may not seem courageous, but, give it a try.

Intuition is knowing how things are going to go. Most people don't develop the intuition because the ego gets in the way.

@Morten thanks for weighin in. i think the song is about a specific relationship for him but is also written in a way that takes me back to when i started to understand women. their wants and needs

what about the path of inspiration and action that is joyous....inspired action? why does any progress have to be thought of as work? connect first vision second enjoy third. there is no for balance when you act from connection and inspiration since this way does not accumulate resistance.
-
There is a magic solution. It's looking at the path as the path to Joy. It's like everything else, it's how you think I about it, and your emotions let you know how to find a higher thought about anything. Do your practices daily, and enjoy them, look at them as they are the very thing that is bringing you joy. And listen to those that refer to it as work, they are giving you the gift.

You can have everything that you don't hold at a distance with resistant thought. You are in your reality, not someone else's... what are you doing with that?
-
Passion. This could become obvious to you. Consider, why are you choosing to think you can't have everything you want? Passion, money, etc. The difference between you and someone who has everything they want is you are choosing resistant thought. Don't be stubborn. Allow everything.

I found mine around age 25. It's happiness. Joy.

Congrats on your escape!!!!!!! Fuck your feeling about that situation, it's time for all new feelings! You look young so I'll suggest something a little out there in hopes that it is of use to you. Maybe you're focusing on food because it is all or most of your frame of reference so far in your life. Maybe focus on your knowing that you love to make people happy, you love knowing you care about quality and excecution. Know that you just love caring. Consider that these are personality traits that will lead to your success in any field. I'm being bold and risky here, but I don't think it's the food you love, I think it's the feelings that come with striving to be your best that you love. I love that too. Focus on your practices. Ask in meditation what is the best path for you to develop those traits best, and jut allow what comes. Godspeed..

If you can replace words like work with words like fun, across the board, you will have everything you want. If you struggle to do this, accept that you are what you repeat. Start repeating what you want to be, and by the laws of the universe, you will become it.

yes yes yes to this and a million more hacks like it! Looking at the world from the outside in is an illusion. You are the world. Start viewing it from the insid outside. Watch what dreams may come.
-
When you can imagine and vision to an ongoing state where you no longer choose to see in terms of work, but instead fun, you will not need to ask about this. No one was born more gifted than you. But some people are choosing to use their imagination and vision more.
-
You can tell by how you feel. Self honesty is the onion to peel. Feel your feelings with more and more refinement, acuity, Inner dishonesty is resistance to better feelings. "I won't lie no more you can bet, and I don't wanna learn what I'll need to forget"
-
The offline version is focusing on your vision. Imagine what you want. Everything physical came from a vision. Your imagination is your greatest assset. Develop it above all else. Support it with a healthy lifestyle.
-
I suggest scraping your very idea and path of "aspirations" and consider it's only about your daily practices. Notice how people who are at their best say things like "I was just in the flow" or "time slowed down" or "I was outside myself, witnessing my action". These people got to that level with their daily practices and positive vision. If you don't have clarity the only advice you need is that what you want will not come from advice, but by your daily practices. Make a list of what you're doing for yourself daily, and then add to that list everything you can think of, and make a new list of what you want to do.
