Nahm replied to Mezanti's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Mezanti There are years of thought patterns (beliefs) at play. There is an identity which has been illusively forged by them. The path is deconstruction of those. Awareness of them is key. Write them down to become more aware of them. -
Nahm replied to Mezanti's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Mezanti The eyes thing is a reoccurring theme. I believe it’s the mental construct not yet able to surrender, so ‘it’ try’s to make sense of what can’t be made sense of. Essentially, it is the product of repeating patterns of thought, not jiving with the introduction of potentiality or, non-pattern non repetition. Consider using a pen and paper, you might be surprised at what comes when you inquire that way, and it seems like there are some unresolved emotions which can be released, by being expressed. In writing, emotions are released, and because you are writing, and seeing what you’re writing, cognition is involved, and upon release, there are satisfying understands. The on off on off you mentioned, is often referred to as “the waves” when tripping. “The waves” are like the static inbetween two radio stations, as you move from thinking to awareness, and awareness to being / nondual. Sounds like your ‘waves’ experienced were where thought patterns meet awareness, / uncertainty meets certainty, / repetition meets potentiality. Substances kind of “force” past this point. As it was not pleasant for you, the answer would be again, expressing the emotions, so that there is less unresolved activity within your body, and can be more surrender. Awareness of deep, relaxed, stomach breathing, all day, can really help with awareness of thought patterns. -
There is not “my mind”, there is Mind. Try to find the edges, the separation - there’s isn’t. Mind ALWAYS has your best intention at heart. Stop fantasizing randomly, and start visioning. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how mind responds. Though there is no mind, nor causation, and of course, no response. But try it and see.

Yes, infinite, no end. Deep, bottomless. Personality is a construct made of groundless repetition which can be deconstructed, like all other “things” in the light of Awareness. It makes people uncomfortable to express you don’t actually have a personality. Categorically, it’s in there with karma, suicide, God, etc. In the sense, if someone is asking about them, there’s an expression / answer given on their behalf which is not the Truth known by the one answering. Sadhguru is illusory. Confident he’d willfully say the same. To attempt to put his, or anyone’s being into perspective, you need to first see that of course, you are the only one who can be enlightened. “Oneness”, is quite literal. -

Just a little counter balance, nothing personal, imo 25g’s is an INSANE amount of shrooms to take. Took 8g once. 4-5 in hindsight in plenty. All depends on the barriers though really. Also, careful with how much shrooms you take after having experienced meo. Consider trying 2g’s first to feel it out. -

Is it best to be comfortable...or to stop being comfortable? Sometimes self discipline is exactly what’s needed. Only one could know. If ‘humble’ is forgein, I’d consider meditating just as the Dalai Lama instructs. -

@Tistepiste I’ve always thought the best inventions come from, “why doesn’t this exist already??? If you’re looking for a partner in this, I have some ideas I’ve been jotting down for a while. -

@Wisebaxter ha! Right on. Perhaps monk is hidden just behind that key. -
This shoe will never fit, because your experience is paramount. If you ‘place’ other people’s experience of you, as the primary focus, that which is You can not condone it, can not ‘go there’, because it is simply not True - it’s just overthinking against the Self. Your life is not an accident. You are you, this can not be confirmed or validated or justified, because You are. Your ‘imperfections’ are precisely what makes you perfect. It is an inexplicable miracle, being you. I can’t explain the first thing about it. It’s impossible. Yet, you are. How you think you are seen, is actually how you are seeing yourself. Loving What Is (Byron Katie) goes perfectly with The Six Pillars. Check it out. You can change actions, and change habits, etc, etc, but don’t hold desire to change who you are, that’s impossible. Instead, look to discover who you are - the impossibility of that will fulfill you in the most impossible ways.

If there is One thing we can come to know, it is that there is no problem with the fundamental nature of reality. A single thought against the Self veils. Chronic patterns of thoughts against the Self can be convincing. But these are just thoughts, which only appear to have power, when you believe them. “I don’t know”, may serve you well.

In an online space of ads every 3 minutes, the rarity of Act.’s integrity is becoming more and more apparent. Very long term thinking. -

@Tistepiste Brilliant. I love the intention of guiding one through expressing. A timeline - graph generator showing the history of the purification would be sweet, and encouraging for many. So many new meditators get discouraged, as if the “meditation” was causing the unwanted emotions. Knowing there’s an emotional ‘process’, a purging, would give reassurance & clarity. Very nice T! -
@Amun And out of nowhere, an honest one. ??

@Brant Me too. It sucked. The only thing worse than my dad’s temper, was my overthinking about it, for years. Took me a while to figure me out, to figure him out, and to let it go. So I’m in Ontario tonight, and I noticed a town named Brantford, in Brant County even. And now I see your post, and I can’t help but see the divinity in the universe. Did you know Brantford Ontario, and your name, Brant, have the same origin? A guy named Joseph Brant. He didn’t have any problems with his dad though. His dad died when he was born, so he never knew him. Joesph was kind of a big deal apparently - hung out with George Washington, and King George III, and was the leader of The Mohawk People. That’s impressive I think, what a life I bet. But that’s not even the most impressive thing. Back then there was a bit of a caste system happenin. Odds were the family and situation you were born into, was pretty much locked in as your destiny. Not Joseph Brant though. He wasn’t born into leadership. He educated himself, and developed his abilities, and ‘rose to the top’ in affiliations as such. He became such a fearless leader in fact, he was one of the most feared men of his time. That fear & insecurity got the best of people apparently, and they resented him, and dubbed him “Monster Brant”. He didn’t stop though, he just kept leading. Later, the error of the projections on him were realized to be false. (In one of the pinnacle battles, many civilians were ruthlessly murdered, but it was later proven that he refused to be a part of that.) This misunderstanding, via egoic projections & defense mechanisms, caused a half century of bad blood between the Americans and the Iroquois people. When the truth surfaced, he was given an enormous chunk of land; present day Ontario - Brant County. It doesn’t matter if anyone else knows who you really are. It doesn’t matter what anyone says to you, what anyone says about you - what names they call you. Brant is a good, strong name. You should be proud of who you are, and you should be forgiving of people who don’t know better. Everyone is doing their best, and life is too short. Something else for ya too Brant. A week ago, and I don’t understand how, my basement toilet overflowed. Well, it didn’t “overflow”, more specifically, the big pipe / drain, that goes from the house into the cities sewer system clogged, built up pressure for a few days, and unleashed everything four people had been flushing down the toilets, into my basement. This is my basement mind you, my space lol. I put that floor in, I put that drywall in, I hung and leveled every door, I put all the molding in myself - it’s where I sing & play guitar, where I exercise, where I meditate, where I write. When I say “backed up”, it was more like some one turned the shit slurpee machines to 11, and let it run aaaallllll night. Half of the basement floor was some ungodly mixture of devil feces mushpoop. I had to wear an insulation mask, AND a t-shirt over my nose and mouth just to be able to walk down the steps, and my knees still shook a little. I looked like a damn terrorist fighting the Shit Swamp Brant. My kids thought it was hilarious. Cleaned it all up though. Sterilized every inch of that basement. Pris-f’n-stine. It sparkled. Brought a tear to my eye. Then a few days ago, the exact same thing happened again. Shit Flood sequel. Unbelievable. Shitgate! I don’t know how any of that drainage works really. I couldn’t believe I had to deal with it, to clean it all up again! You probably see where this is headed.... The plumber though, he came in like it was nuthin. Booted through it like butter, ran a 60 foot industrial cable / camera / scope / drill thingy down a few places, figure it all out (no gloves btw ?). He explained the cause of the problem, very clearly and precisely. I was a little riled by number two, of The Great Flood of The ‘Number Two’, but he wasn’t at all. I hear you that your dad blew it, and needs to address his alcoholism. But also, “hero” is a very relative term. I bet he helped / helps a lot of people, and they probably don’t express much appreciation. It’s probably really difficult doing what he’s doing, and maybe he casts his resentment, like a lot of us do, on the people he was doing it for. It’s shitty, but we’re weird that way, and doing our best. Edit.......Oh ya! Almost forgot...the plumbing “problem”....was my 7 & 8 year old kids, flushing the end of a paper towel roll in the basement toilet, and watching it unroll down the crapper. We all do dumb stuff I guess!

@Manjushri Do what you really want to - you’re just going to die anyways. Focus enough on what you want to be doing, and a new & different light will shine on those ‘habits’. You might love them, like your first bike. Today, write down one thing you want to be doing daily. Maybe meditation, maybe learning something, maybe reading a book, maybe caring for yo. Today, just one step, just writing it down on a piece of paper, and write one sentence explaining why you want to start doing it. Tomorrow, just one step - just look at it and read it. If you feel like it, do it, otherwise, just read it. The next day - just read it, if you feel like it, do it. Eventually what you want to do will be in your wheelhouse, in closer proximity mentally, more familiar and not so foreign to you - and you’ll do it. The ‘old’ habits, they’ll reveal themselves as “filler”. Filler which you’ve been putting in a ‘self love’ sized hole. You get just a little taste of doing what you really want to be doing - and you’ll laugh about the habits. That they ever held you back will seem funny in a way. You’ll feel the pull of repetition, of habit, but it won’t be the same. You’ll feel something else arise with that ‘pulling’ - the knowing of the feeling good - from doing something you consciously wanted to do - and you’ll want to keep doing it. You’ll want to add a second thing to it, and eventually a third, etc. And the habits, the old ways, the pull - you’ll feel a certain sadness for them, along side a deeper inner joy, an appreciation for your new vantage point. And you’ll mourn a little, probably cry a little, as ‘that old me’ stops repeating, and dies off. And because you’re brave, and stronger, you’ll love it as it ‘dies off’. Then you’ll enjoy a little glimpse, if you will, a little insight, about, death. You might even think - “what did I ever know about death anyways”?! “For all I know, it could be the greatest thing ever!” Maybe....death is for living. Do what you really want to - you’re just going to “die” anyways.

@Wisebaxter Loving that this thread is still going. Lol. Your likability is off the charts, it just pervades. I wonder, if relative to ‘where you’re at’...maybe you could pause on the ‘how is it an illusion’...and consider you just might have an a priori real, instead. Perhaps it’d be fun for the two of you to do together. Maybe use your phones or tablets, or whatever, and see who can get to the bottom of what real actually is /means, first. Not spiritually or philosophically, but “regular” style. One google after another. What are the leaves in the road? What are they made of? -
@Jonty Empty / let go of your current understanding, so another can arise. The two are ten fold to one, or the other.
