  1. One thing I have noticed is that eggs seem to make me tired, so much so that they are a pretty reliable sleep aid. It doesn't transfer to the next day. "Acetylcholine promotes REM sleep, which helps memory storage and for the brain to rest [R]." https://selfhacked.com/blog/acetylcholine/ I notice the same thing with vitamin D3, It seems to make me tired. https://selfhacked.com/blog/35proven-health-benefits-vitamin-d-part-1/ "Vitamin D could be important for sleep disorders (R). Higher concentrations of this vitamin were associated with better maintenance of sleep (R). In the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) study, lower vitamin levels were associated with shorter sleep duration (R). Some studies suggest improved sleep quality with vitamin D supplementation. It has been hypothesized that its deficiency is central to a recent ‘epidemic’ of disturbed sleep patterns (R, R2). Studies have reported a high prevalence of this vitamin deficiency in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. This is a widespread disorder characterized by episodes of breathing cessation due to upper airway tract obstruction during sleep (R). Its deficiency is more pronounced in severe sleep apnea and associated with abnormal glucose production (R, R2). More studies are needed to prove this relationship between sleep quality and vitamin D supplementation."
  2. https://selfhacked.com/blog/acetylcholine/ "Acetylcholine is a hot topic within the realm of memory enhancement. It is a neurotransmitter that is critical for the everyday functioning of the brain, particularly in the areas of movement, learning & memory, and sleep quality. Check out this post to learn how to promote balanced acetylcholine in your body and function at your very best." https://www.megafood.com/blog/choline-supernutrient-in-eggs-you-didnt-know.html "The humble egg. Just two hard-boiled eggs provide 250 to 300 mg of choline. And the yolk is the key! If you're eating an egg-white omelet for breakfast, you're missing out on the vital nourishment the yolk has to offer, including choline." Two books I have read somewhat recently both recommend both eggs and fish , salmon in particular They both are in line with what moonlight said about the farmed fish, Dave is more stringent about quality what Max says that conventional eggs are fine, though organic and pasture raised in preferred.
  3. I have heard that freezing preserves the vitamins https://greatist.com/health/frozen-vs-fresh-which-vegetables-are-best "Fresh fruits and veggies produce enzymes (trypsin and chymotrypsin) that cause loss of color, flavor, and nutrients just after harvest. But the reaction can be stopped by deactivating the enzyme — which freezing can do — leaving the frozen veggies with more nutrients ."
  4. https://www.iflscience.com/brain/playing-video-games-good-your-brain-here-s-how/ "Their newly published paper demonstrates that the playing of action video games – the sort of fast-paced, 3D shoot-em-up beloved of doomsayers in the media – confirms what other studies have revealed, that players show improved performance in perception, attention, and cognition." https://www.idtech.com/blog/video-games-are-good-for-you "The results confirmed previous findings—that there were differences in the brain structure of video gamers, and that by playing video games, there was a “direct link between video gaming and a volumetric brain increase.”
  5. @moon777light I'm reading this book too! I went to bed listening to it one night and it was the most intense 30 minutes, ha
  6. @moon777light There was a humorous youtube comment under the video that said something along the lines of, "Santa has infiltrated the civilian population under the alias of a holistic health doctor". I got a good chuckle out of that
  7. happened to see this the other day, might be in line with what you are talking about. There is also a part where he says he trains medical professionals of all specialties
  8. This is a love song between you and reality
  9. @Dodo I agree that kind of thinking is a pretty dark place to be. Ive been reading the book Mind Hacking by Sir John Hargrave, and he has a section where he talks about negative thinking in a pretty illuminating way, I think you might enjoy it. Solve for Happy by Mo Gowdat is another one of these books. That being said, I do think there is real magic. my experience confirms this. Though I do not fully understand it. Interesting things start to happen when you go "offroading", stop listening to teachers, and strengthen your own relationship to reality.
  10. in the book irresistible the author talks about how talking about yourself online has been shown to give you an emotional high.
  11. by getting the master sword
  12. There is a quote from the book "own the day" where Aubrey Marcus says that if he was stranded on a desert island with one self-help tool he would take his binaural beats.
  13. I've been enjoying this book as of late It is peppered with humor and science fiction metaphors, yet communicates some profound information at the same time. There is a quote somewhere near the beginning of the book where he says, paraphrase " believe it or not, I have actually learned to love my mind" It can help you relate better to your mind. The audiobook is great.
  14. This video can help reinforce honesty if listened to on a consistent basis
  15. looking at this from a very cynical devil's advocate sort of way, I just see universal human traits here.
  16. @Michael569 It is a great book, but a bitter pill to swallow. One of the most important books I have read in recent times. It explains so much about one's self and also the people around you.
  17. It is probably more accurate to say eye movement instead of emdr. But, it is similar to emdr It is hard to say, as I am testing dozens of things, just what is causing a breakthrough. I would say allow it to happen, or decide to do it. But it seems the winning combination with this protocol is morning time + good headphones+ tapping+ affirmations+ eye movement. I've had a few beautiful breakthroughs doing this
  18. "Two brilliant minds are together again for a discussion of the nature of our reality, with a bright and beautiful host! A winner! There is a great connection between Tom Campbell and Bruce Lipton. We are both “on the same sheet of music” says Tom. Love is the conclusion of both of these scientists’ decades of research. And that is good news for the world! Dr Bruce Lipton is a vibrant, generous and caring individual who has expressed respect for Tom’s work and how well it fits with his own extensive research in biology and beyond. Bruce says of Tom, “his words are wonderful truth.” It’s time for a bigger picture, and many scientists are now on board with Tom’s MBT theory! Want world peace? As Tom has said here and many times, “The world is a reflection of us.” A peaceful solution begins with the individual’s journey."
  19. Something that I feel compelled to share is that I have been incorporating light emdr with these sessions and I find that it increases my sensitivity both to the tapping and to the affirmations. Just 20 seconds of back and forth eye movement and my sensitivity, and thus the effectiveness of the session went up. This explains why the subconscious programming works well at night because the body naturally goes through rapid eye movement, in fact this is considered one the most restorative aspects of sleep. If I ever get my hands on some really comfortable headphones, I will try it while sleeping based on this information.
