  1. In what ways am I dishonest?
  2. @felixk_priv I just take small moments out of my day to contemplate, I made a habit out of it, and entertaining trains of thought. But what you are asking in this thread is very abstract. What do you mean by truth-seeking and epistemology and being "screwed in life" ?
  3. Hard to say. Is your survival taken care of? Can you afford 4 hours a day of pursuing epistemology? Even 30 minutes daily is better than none. Consistency is key. But it is really difficult to say something smart, as we do not know your situation. Also, there is no "catching up". Your way has been only trodden by you. You are not behind or ahead, it's an illusion. So if this pursuit is something that is valuable to you, just start, and don't worry about being "behind".
  4. Standing up for myself, not avoiding confrontations, being competetive. Doing my bidding, keeping my word, to myself and to others. tl;dr - standing on bidness, 10 toes down in this b
  5. Working on getting an IT certificate. Working on integrating and developing my Red stage psyche. Also, Working lol. Got my first job in the field im in, so majority of time is here. A lot of creativity in me, but little pursuit due to survival. Reading less than I would like to. Do you have deep and fascinating books to recommend? @LordFall Read "Jesus Christ Sun of God" if you want a mind blowing read in christian and greek mythology.
  6. Thank you for that response, it's excellent.
  7. @Joseph Maynor Good idea. Will implement.
  8. Hey all. Over the past years I have noticed that my assertiveness is lacking. I went through therapy, set my goals, found my values - it has tremendously helped me to see reality as is, also in this endevor. Lately one of my core values were harshly challanged (I am intentionally vauge here), and even though in the last years I grew alot, I still couldn't handle it and resorted to retreat. Like in Elden Ring, I thought I had what it takes to beat a boss, but I lost. I am treating this as an excellent growth opportunity and learning experience, to sharpen my assertiveness and learn how to use force when needed. In spiral dynamics lingo, I could say my Red development is lacking and is not integrated well. The thing is I don't know how to approach this behavior change well. Situations that are as challenging as the recent one are rare, and so they don't provide a repetition neccessary for changing a pattern. I've come up with a few ways, and am executing them: - keeping my word - competetiveness in sports, going 110% when playing against someone - challenging myself in the gym, going to failure, going past failure What other everyday habits, behaviors, challanges could I do, that could help me reprogram myself and integrate that Red? Am I approaching this well?
  9. @Leo Gura This is so trippy. Regarding your "What if reality is ONE way" post, I had the exact same thought and insight the same day as you did. This is some cosmic calendar level shit. God is truly only one way, and that way led us to this specific insight. Crazzyyy
  10. I am repulsed by those AI works. I don't think that using AI is wrong, even concerning deep subjects, but it shows me that you did not put in the effort to even format the text, to feel more human-like. (which begs the question, is this honest and valuable work?) I do however like the concept of trying to explain complex subjects simply, as would vikings do. This is a good concept, but feels so rushed it was repulsive to me. Even the webpage is vibe-coded.
  11. @Davino I don't get why hedonism seems to be interpreted so shallowly. Like the pleasure and pain have to be physical/immediate. Let's suppose that he does stab himself in the leg to learn about sameness and difference of the experience of pleasure and pain. And he finds out, by direct experience. So what is greater here: the joy (pleasure) of insight into Nature, or the pain from the wound? Hedonism is not so shallow, and truth be told, I don't think we as animals could ever practice any other philosophy.
  12. @Rafael Thundercat yes, this one exactly
  13. I watched a couple of minutes of a documentary about the famous North Sentinel Island. This is fucking insane. Just imagine how these people function, how they think, how they percieve the world around them. I mean it has to be so different from whatever we see. I'm 99% sure that if we studied them, their myths, etc. we would find some hero's joruney or some pattern that we can recognize, so they are not all that different, but we are AWARE of these patterns, these people live in them, are submerged in them. How do these people percieve light? Or fire, or a plane flying overhead? They are sitting in the Plato's cave watching the shadows move. (tbh we are maybe a level higher, but hell na we ain't at the surface). Their concepts have to be so far fetched from ours, I'm amazed by it just by writing it just now. This has massive implications, you can't ever even hope to percieve what the other person is thinking. You can think that people around you get you, but how can you know that they see things in the same way as you do? This is existential loneliness. No matter what, we are fundamentally alone. You can never hope to truly understand someone else.
  14. There is a hiking proverb: "just walk" - it is used in cases when you are getting tired by the hike, and the only thing on your mind is to get to your destination. So the first instinct is to get annoyed or hopeless. The proverb aims to remind you that the only thing that will get you closer to your destination is walking, not complaining, planning, etc. There are no golden bullets for learning something, I mean there are methods, but at the end of the day you got to sit down and just do the work. No other way.
  15. I am an undergrad ICT student, one of the best unis in my country (Poland). I also know that I am good at things that I do (for example, routing). Some time ago I started applying for internships for all sorts of positions in the IT world (my major is kind of jack-of-all-trades). I have sent over like 30 applications, and none of the companies responded. (Waiting like 3 weeks now) Is this normal to wait that long/get no response? How much skill do I need to have to get an internship, or even an interview? If you were in a similar position, share your experience! It would be a massive help to me to understand the realities of the process.
