The best way to learn non-violent communication is paradoxically learning what is violent communication. BSing yourself that you are a non-violent person won’t save you here.

There is no one here controlling anything. It’s out of control!

It was necessary as part of my survival. As for the respect part, she was actually disrespecting my autonomy (unknowingly) by imposing all of her belief systems onto me and expecting me to live up to all those standards.

All the spiritual gurus you look up to… yes, they’ve all done batshit things! They are protecting their spiritual egos by not disclosing said things.

I’ve most definitely done that in my past. And to my mother. Fast forward 10 years and we are now best friends

It’s all CONSCIOUSNESS. Anything and everything that is changing is YOU!

There are people who are naturally very social. They would literally be in an existential crisis if they did not socialize on a regular basis. They can’t help but be social.

Most religious people wouldn’t even bother taking this topic seriously. They would deny that they even use violent communication to begin with. Their religion has brainwashed them into thinking that they are saints! It is important to widen your perspective.
