  1. X= I am "I am" represents the core of your being, connecting you to a universal consciousness. This phrase affirms your existence beyond physical form and acknowledges your true self, fostering self-awareness and unity with all creation
  2. Not too shabby. Do you have a journal to keep and share your insights in?
  3. @Majed Have you tested this yourself? And if so, how about sharing a few of your God level insights with us.
  4. What is @Nahm's stance today as far as psychedelics? After he left here I lost all touch with him. I remember him talking in riddles like he was channeling some special spiritual connection that only he understood.
  5. In, what "I" consider to be a deep meditation there is a loss of self-awareness. "I" doesn't exist. This loss of self-awareness happens usually when in what feels like an ocean of pure consciousness. Self-awareness remains, but it is empty of thoughts. So, from being aware that I'm floating in an ocean of consciousness to loss of self-awareness. This doesn't happen every meditation. Most meditations I'll just sit with a semi- still mind and observe different states and imagery as they arise. This can be anything from a feeling of total union, Infinity, the void, dreamlike states, astral travel, being prior to manifestation (one of my faves). Hellish states (least fave). Or just observing thoughts as they arise and so on and so on. So, to sum it up the deepest meditations are the ones where the I, the witness, the ego, vanishes and there is no more experience to be had.
  6. "Etymology of the word 'human'" The word "human" originated from Latin around 1350-1400. meaning: "Earthling of man" Thought you'd love that one. @Princess Arabia
  7. @Someone here It's your thread man. If that's the way you see it, so be it.
  8. Makes you question which side of the fence the true insanity was on. The patient side or the side with the guy that was driven by an uncontrollable ego.
  9. Have you ever heard the story of the poisoned well? A witch put a curse on the town well and everyone who drank from the well became insane. All but one person drunk from the well. And the towns people all saw him as insane because he was different than everyone else. So, they were going to put him in chains because he was so insane. And as they took him, he said: "Wait, I know what to do". So, he drank from the poisoned well and was cured. This guy walks past an insane asylum every day on his way to work. It has a high privacy fence around it, and he can hear behind the fence the patients chanting, 25-25-25-25...... The next day as he walks by, he hears 26-26-26-26.... So, finally his ego gets the best of him, and he thinks "I got to know why they are chanting these numbers". So, he looks for a hole in the fence and finally finds one. And as he peers through, he gets poked in the eye and cries out in pain. And as he does as he hears them chanting- 27-27-27-27......
  10. @- Adam - My pleasure. Keep it in your heart space where it belongs.
  11. From the book: 'Know Yourself'. When the secret is revealed to you, you will know that you are not other than God, but that you yourself are the object of your quest. -No If's, And's, or But's about it.
  12. @Hojo If you could find the sweet spot between the two extremes that would be perfect. That way mods like me don't have to clean up a trail of little turds.
  13. @Hojo This kind of talk is a bit twisted. Whatever your issues, mental, sexual or substance, you need to clean up your act.
  14. I realize this is just in its planning stage but what kind of setting are you thinking?
  15. Plus, it just can't handle that much Truth. It's too vast, too awesome, too infinite, too everything. Like a child who is afraid to grow up.
  16. Ram Dass followed the advice of his guru and got away from psychedelics and instead made service to the community his sadhana. He spent his later years sitting with terminally ill people that were in hospice care.
  17. This is so true. Like sitting in the warmth of the sun. No need to brain work it.
  18. @UnbornTao Enlightenment is not an experience. Experiences are states which happen within consciousness and are infinite. Exploring these "infinite states" can lead to enlightenment. But it is not enlightenment itself. Enlightenment happens when one's desire to explore these infinite states has been completely extinguished. Then only pure beingness remains. *One must be careful with chasing experiences as they can get themself caught in a trap without realizing it. Even beautiful experiences such as Samadhi (total union) must be let go of. As a side note: I used to believe fear was the so called "gateless- gate" to enlightenment. And at that time, it was. But now I've learned there is another, more difficult gate for the ego to pass through. One which involves surrendering even the most blissful of states. -I'll have to give a listen to the video you provided.
  19. @Someone here When false assumptions begin to fall away it can feel like insanity.
  20. That's exactly where the argument lies. Some will say the experiences with psychedelics can lead to truth where others will argue they only produce "states" and states are states, not absolute truth. Nisargadatta was known for this. He would ask a deciple "tell me about your deepest realization". And no matter what answer they gave, he would always reply: "That's not it". Why? Because the Absolute is beyond all experience. It is "pure consciousness" beyond what can be perceived or known.
  21. Your problem is recalling your dreams. Being aware of your dreams is the first step to lucid dreaming. Try this: Set an alarm for the middle of the night. When it wakes you, go in the bathroom and throw some water on your face. Then get back in bed and as you start to fall back to sleep remain aware as long as you can. This is a prime time to experience lucid dreaming and even astral travel. With practice you will become better at it. Another thing to try would be changing where or how you sleep. For instance, try sleeping on the floor. Or sleeping with your head at the foot of the bed. This will make you more aware during the night so that you spend less time in deep sleep and more time in a semi-aware state. And as mentioned above, when you first wake is the best time to recall your dreams. If you start thinking about the day ahead, you will forget your dreams. The most important thing is you must train yourself to become dream aware. Good luck!
  22. Hopefully some of the average run of the mill hippies of that day passed their insights onto their children so that they could take that knowledge to the next level.
