  1. @Eonwe5 That realization can be very terrifying for some people. What is seen is that who you thought you were was in reality just thoughts and feelings. That voice is now what is causing all that disturbance for you because it has seen that it is illusiory and you still believe it somewhat or else it wouldn't disturb you. This will gradually become better with time. Before you know it you'll be perfectly fine with being unknown to yourself. ? But you're here writing this to us. ? You might not be what you thought you were and you might not be able to explain/know what you are but you do exist. I can also (just as leo said) recommend mindfulness labeling to break those thought/feeling patterns that you still identify with.
  2. Maybe because people with mental health issues are looking for relief of suffering and turn towards spirtuality because of it. Also the dark night of the soul looks pretty much like depression from the outside.
  3. It can be good to contemplate the implications but also a hindrance to sinking deeper into the realization. The mind makes a connection between watching the video and awakening but no matter what you did when the awakening experience happened they are not cause and effect.
  4. Yeah thats a good point. There might be a bang or two but the real work starts afterwards. ?
  5. How one reacts is based upon each individuals unique conditioning. But yeah usually there is a phase where this conditioning needs to be met.
  6. @Someone here Based on your earlier threads you've been on the brink of an awakening for a while. ? Congratulations.
  7. Yeah, that's a nice attitude to have about it. ? It's all about sinking deeper and deeper into your direct experience.
  8. All realizations are subjective. They don't exist until they've been realized.
  9. How is it "neo advaita nonsense"? I don't resonate with neo advaita at all. I think that those teachings are not helpful to those who seek.
  10. Meditation is a good way to ground yourself into being. I did not meditate after the realization but I can see that it might have sped up the dissolving. I did do other activities that grounded me like walking in the forest. I'd advice you to not push yourself into meditating if you don't feel like it. Do the things you enjoy and meditation will come naturally with it. ?
  11. @softlyblossoming You seek until you find and when you find the seeking energy starts to dissolve.
  12. Either that has been realized or it hasn't. Telling someone that they're are God can make some very dangerous egos.
  13. @Mips Ultimately solipsism and enlightenment are different things. Solipsism is the belief that all you experience is your senses and you can't know whether anyone else exists or not so you are alone. Enlightenment is the realization that there is no separate self, no you that is having experiences. Reality wakes up through you. With it comes peace and non-existence.
  14. Usually the reason that it takes a long time is because one resists it happening so it never completely diminishes which prolongs this state. So my advice is look for ways you're resisting. Also look for the small things in which it wants to move. Life is like a dance and is done one step after another.
  15. It depends on where you awaken on the continnum. Most of the time there's still autonomy and identity left but at a certain point at the continuum there is no sense of doership or identity. Yeah you could say that but the self that is coming from identification to thought and feeling is illusiory. It's not that which is expanding because it's seen to be false. Identification is the limiting factor, when there's no identification the are no longer any boundries.
  16. @Matys If you have no genuine drive to do anything then don't. Forcing yourself is not the answer. Usually when the drive to do diminishes it's because the spiritual work is working. This can be confusing and hard emotionally but the best thing is to keep that drive continue to fall away until it's completely diminished.
  17. Most people aren't aware of that. They believe that they are a separate self in a fearful world and their actions are a reflection of that.
  18. Ultimately what Leo or anyone else says is irrelevant wouldn't you say? If you start deny your own experience and start acting in line with a belief (something that hasn't been realized) then you stop evolving. What's true is what you're experiencing right now and any memory of a higher state is an illusion.
  19. Identity is formed through feeling and thought or the surpression of them. It can also be very subtle. I'd say any form of rigidity is identification.
  20. You keep thinking that but is that thought true? You question the thought. If that thought arises don't give it attention. Instead do something else. I for example had thoughts about there being something wrong with me. The realization that it wasn't true made me question the thought and it was a major step out of depression.
  21. Yes, just as the eye can't turn around and see itself you can't turn around to experience yourself. It's one thing to make that conclusion and realizing it though. Realizing it is not an experience but a non-experience so what can actually be said about it.
  22. That seems like a deep realization. What implications does this realization have to conflict between you and others?
  23. If someone can't stop thinking then how are they making the thoughts? If someone was making the thoughts then wouldn't that imply that someone also could stop making the thoughts? How are they responsible?
