  1. Exactly this. We sometimes don’t realize that we are looking at the walls of the small box that we are living in, a box that we created ourselves over time and confused for reality. And you first have to realize that fact before you can really step out of that box because to you that box can seem very real because it’s all you can see right now.
  2. Maybe get out of your haze and become engaged with life. Then you will also have less vague, abstract, esoteric, but ultimately useless, thoughts
  3. If Putin loses this war surely his position as leader of Russia becomes untenable. Losing to, in Putins own words, ‘a bunch of neo nazis and drug addicts in Kyiv’. ?
  4. As long as they have a copy of the Quran on hand they don’t need to use their own brain, or so they believe. Because thinking for yourself is idolatry, scientism and western modernist propaganda?
  5. I think you can only truly try to intellectualize the truth when you’ve personally seen and experienced it. If you haven’t, any intellectualization is equally false and equally true. At that point it’s still just a mindgame, a play of words. Even if you get it right in your head, if you haven’t truly experienced the concept you came up in your minds eye it’s not really true for you. A concept can’t ever fully capture the truth, just allude to it. And good spiritual teachers don’t try to make you do conceptual mathematics in your head. But they use concepts to guide you toward seeing what you need to see. Bad spiritual teachers tell you what you need to believe what is true. There is a distinction between these two approaches.
  6. @Consept It can be a real issue though when it's physical contact sports. Not only extreme physical contact like boxing and martial arts. But also sports like rugby and soccer. A man can really physically damage women in those sports causing permanent muscular damage and brain damage. Men have naturally more muscle mass and higher bone density. So not only are men naturally more equipped to deal heavy physical blows, they are also way more resilient when taking hard blows. So even if you try to level the playing field with introducing weight classes, the man will still have physical advantages over the woman. And these advantages manifesting themselves as the difference in winning and losing is one thing, when people run the risk of physical trauma that's another story.
  7. Vietnam probably wasn’t even in the top50, yet they fucked up the supposed strongest military in the world
  8. Dude, the nazi rhetoric is just a red herring Putin used to fool his people going into his war. Do you actually think Putin is afraid of a couple of neo nazis in Ukraine? ?
  9. Like other people already said. Ultimately it doesn’t matter how you live your life, it’s your life, do as you wish. But people destroying themselves and their environment because if their pursuit of pleasure is the oldest story of the world. And people are still falling for it. And if that’s what you want to do you can totally do it. But don’t be surprised when it fucks you up, badly. Even if everything is ultimately meaningless, there are still consequences to your choices. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
  10. Putin is passé, he served his country well but its time for the next generation. A leader who is more in touch with the modern world and not stuck in archaic ideologies and views on the world. The world has passed Putin by and this invasion is a last convulsion of a man who has not learned to let go.
  11. Exactly this. I’m a man and I would not give a shit if a woman wants to compete with me and other men in a sport, but she will likely get her ass kicked. If women are fine with men competing in their sport than the men should shut up about it, it’s none of their business.
  12. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jordan Peterson and Barack Obama are three people I'd love to have a conversation with. Saying they are my idols is a bit of a stretch but they are undoubtedly interesting characters that have a lot knowledge and experiences, and are great conversationalists.
  13. Lol Russia is even retreating from some cities because the resistance is too heavy. So much for the Russian propagandists'; "this is all part of the plan". Yeah right
  14. I like goal setting, and having a vision for yourself and the world. And working hard towards that while maintaining a positive attitude. But this manifestation stuff is made up to sell books and workshops I think. It’s too vague and esoteric. And the people who actually manage to really manifest good things are in the small minority. It just doesn’t work for most people who try it. Which makes me think it’s more like to be like a form of new age prayer to alter your subconscious mind.
  15. The world has always been relatively shit. And people attitudes and morale are like the economy, it oscillates up and down. Be aware of that and don’t fall into that trap. Because when you go along with that usually when the world is looking good you will be overly optimistic, and when it’s looking bad you’ll be overly pessimistic. It’s better to have your own mission in life which is not dependent on what is currently trending.
  16. Everyone can live their lives the way they want to, but for me retiring = dying. Stagnation = death. There’s a good chance you’ll slowly sink in a puddle of misery. A better alternative is to find your freedom while being somewhat integrated and productive. I think that will yield the most fulfillment and happiness. If you want to live it up like an animal just do that on the side on your off days
  17. I like the work of Robert Greene, because he has the courage to touch on the dark side of the human condition, and linking that with personal development strategies. When most books in the personal development genre is all about positivity, happiness and self transcendence. Robert Greene touches also on the ugly and 'dirty' sides of ourselves. Which are usually ignored or encouraged to repress in conventional personal development literature.
  18. Slaughterhouse workers are among the highest in rates of depression and even PTSD. This is really bottom of the barrel work. And if you even have one iota of doubt about the moral integrity of this work you are probably going to suffer in that kind of environment.
  19. The Naruto show has been going on for so long the animators are probably bored out of their minds and phoning it in at this point. Boredom is a real killer for inspiration and creativity. And in regards to the macbook and asus comparison, you just have to look at the price differences and understand you can’t expect the same kind of eye for detail
  20. That's a moral dilemma right there for ya. I can imagine Zelensky doesn't want men putting on a wig and makeup and attempt to dodge serving the country by trying to pass of as a transgender "woman".
  21. I have been in that situation before where I had a case of Stockholm syndrom at my job, the work environment was extremely toxic from top to bottom. And I felt guilty for wanting to quit, telling myself that I should just 'suck it up' and go on. That I owe these people for giving me the opportunity, that I should suffer along with them, and more of those nonsensical justifications. Just being aware of that self delusion helps you move forward. There's no virtue in staying in a toxic dead end job, none.
