  1. People in general are amazingly good at convincing themselves of all kinds of things. I like to think Leo sets out to share insights passionately rather than trying to convince people of things. I guess it's possible that despite his best intentions, some people will still convince themselves of things. Me included, I'm sure. Fortunately, the videos are peppered with caveats and warnings not to become convinced but to try things for ourselves. By including such warnings, Leo is communicating responsibly.
  2. Is relevance relative? Is rejection relative?
  3. The folders go on the shelf because that's their home. That's where we like them to be. We take one, we use it, we put it back. At the weekend, we look around the room. We ask, is it tidy? Is it clean? Just like we clean ourselves in the shower, we must remember to clean the shower too! When we get home, we ask, have I bought anything? Do I need to put it somewhere? When we have time off work, do we have a "spring clean?" Do we sort through old drawers and boxes and clothes? At work, is our desk tidy? Do we know what's in our pockets? Do we know the contents of our wardrobe? Our glovebox? Our bank account? Our mind? Are our thoughts in order? Are our relationships in order? Where could we start? What's realistic? What's the smallest change that we could be grateful for?
  4. Ultimately I don't know enough enlightened heroin addicts to give a reliable answer but thought I'd play with the question a bit. If the addict declined the heroin, would it prove that they weren't addicted in the first place? Similarly, if the enlightened person took it, would it prove that they weren't enlightened in the first place? Maybe it depends on our definitions. If we define addiction as "inability to avoid something" and enlightenment as "awakened but might still have some addictions", then maybe we get one answer. If we define addiction as "tendency not to avoid something but might still be able to avoid it if lucky/determined etc." and enlightenment as "grasps the true self to the extent that extreme desire and physical needs are largely mastered" then maybe we get another answer. A key part seems to be "in the room" as I assume most people who successfully cease heroin consumption aren't locked in a room with it. I thought it was a nice question by the way. I hope the mods don't get a hold of it and lock it because it's not directly relevant to the average person's immediate personal development. Half the fun of learning is getting to ponder the unusual and quirky things that most people don't normally consider or pay attention to. This is partly why I like Actualized.org.
  5. "I'm sorry Winterknight, my experience doesn't seem to match with what you're saying. As creator of this forum and its related content, I must direct its purpose and the truth from which that purpose derives, as I see it. I hope you understand. I'd really love it if you could remain here and continue to help others as you have been doing such a great job of so far. I'm sure there are many benefits to psychotherapy and indeed violin lessons. I do have a strong focus on psychedelics and who knows, maybe I will become delusional and psychotic. Such is sometimes the fate of the pioneer. Nobody knows the long-term effects of 5Meo. But I do feel as though being that pioneer is my path and so it too becomes a focus here on this forum. There will be other forums where psychotherapy is discussed. We could even set up a thread if you like as I like to include all the aspects of personal and spiritual development that I can. In fact I'd really like it if you could be a part of that. If you would like to. I know that I personally could learn a thing or two from you. I saw a couple of the videos that you made on YouTube and thought they were great. I would be glad to have further discussions with you about my experience with psychedelics too, if it's something that you're interested in."
  6. I seem to be around 50. Took a peek at the next level but toxic anger and pride don't sound like fun. Guess I'll just stay here.
  7. @Strangeloop I think it's good that you're looking beyond the words a little bit.
  8. I think some of his frameworks would be useful for developing a helpful ability to shift perspective in different situations. From his tone and facial expressions, I read that he's quite angry inside and that to some extent, that anger is fuelling his productivity in a way that he's not fully aware of. This is just my personal impression.
  9. Learn to find and listen to the quiet voice inside you that speaks from the heart.
  10. I've been studying enwhitenment.
  11. After returning from a 30 day solo retreat in March, Leo announced: that he was "so much more conscious" than before; that it felt like a year had gone by, rather than a month; that there had been 13 back-to-back awakenings, each deeper than the last; that he had experienced "life-transforming stuff"; that remembering it all was difficult because it felt like he was going back to another lifetime; that it had been the most productive month of his entire life, so far as his growth was concerned; that he'd had "truckloads" of insights, too many to fit into a two hour video; and that he was different than in his old unconscious life. Oh yeah, and he also changed his shirt. In 2018, Leo switched to the black shirt from a black T-shirt after a previous retreat.
  12. How do you like to make decisions? E.g. cointoss, talking to people, making a pros and cons list, mulling it over? The reason I ask is that we have limited background information to go on here. Can we really trust the advice of well-meaning forum users who've only read a few lines about us?
  13. Who's the lecture for? There are trends that can be observed without SD. If in doubt, maybe you could introduce it subtly.
  14. Are we aware that the distinction between God and the devil is a distinction that we ourselves are making?
  15. Make sure your spelling and grammar are on point. Make sure your photos are recent. Steer clear of women whose profile is a list of rules. Some women like to chat and have lengthy conversations online. Others don't.
  16. I don't think there's anything wrong with Leo's teachings in this particular respect. If you need to learn toughness or fighting, you could search for a teacher who specialises in those things.
  17. Guess I'll go watch porn or something.
  18. Is it the flashing that shows you they are soulless or are you able to tell another way?
  19. I disagree with the use of stickers to advertise Actualized.org on any kind of public property whatsoever, without permission from both the property owners and from Leo. I would consider that a childish, irresponsible and embarrassing form of unsightly vandalism, which undermines and cheapens members and all of the important work that the organisation does. The stickers appear well designed however and it would seem a shame to waste them. Perhaps the talented, well-meaning and creative person who made them can come up with an appropriate use for them, which helpfully shares the organisation's name, subject to the agreement of both the owner of Actualized.org and the owners of whatever the stickers are stuck to. Maybe.
  20. I would ask if you've considered seeing a doctor but it's such an obvious question that I'd risk insulting your intelligence by implying that you might not have already thought of it.
  21. Joe does great in his dialogue with Dawkins. He sets an example of how to comfortably talk to people who hold different beliefs than us.
  22. @Consept spot on
  23. Self-deception is woven into our behaviour. For example, when two people have an argument, they might unconsciously overestimate the importance of maintaining their respective credabilities because they've already deceived themselves that they know all that needs to be known and that they can therefore rely absolutely on their own opinions before the argument has even started. The more aware we are of the extent to which we ourselves do this, the easier we may find it to observe and understand what is happening in the moment and respond optimally.
  24. Thank you CreamCat. Sometimes I print too much paper, or throw notepaper away that's hardly been used because I just like to start a fresh sheet. This is a bit like Trump's environmental negligence. Also if I could get away with grabbing a girl by the *****, I probably would. And I eat at McDonald's sometimes.
