  1. ahahaha i can definitley see that being my mom lol im going to the one in Italy
  2. thanks guys, so my mom wants to go with me yay no contact afterall. If i was doing it in the country that i live in, there would be no problem. I would do the 10 days cut off from the world. The problem is thats its in another country (because my country doesnt offer them) thats more dangerous than the one i live in, so they were scared for my safety. But no sneaky texts afterall woohoo For those wondering how this is possible that their so controlling, watch the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". Basically like that
  3. woohoo, super thanks yeah, im from eastern europe, they tend to be like that over there
  4. well got damn, went to this thread to get food advice, instead it got deep really quickly this is some good stuff, it would be good as a journaling prompt
  5. @Esoteric oh my bad, i just went off of the what the book cover says, but i see "special technique" written on it now. @kerk thank you for that that sounds soo cool that you got tested on!
  6. The second one is where you learn the actual technique and theory, the first one is basically gossip, just talks about the bad stuff from keeping kriya secretive, organization/gurus, and he rates a bunch of books. Has anyone doing kriya experienced exacerbation of the body in anyway? I've been feeling quite down and weak the past few days (same symptoms that i had 2 years ago), it came all of a sudden. Im wondering if changes from Kriya are forcefullly trying to change my habits, or if its just pure coincidence.
  7. @Paan seems long enough to me haha
  8. i find it hard to see an Awakened man/woman try furhter to develop Siddi's. Once your awakened, youve connected with your Higher Self, which gives you all the guidance you will ever need. Be that through visions/things that appear before you before you think of them/intuition/etc. i think a sign that someone is unawakened is when they say they want to get a siddi.
  9. its random. Some can develop them, some can't. Thats not the point of Kriya though. Its written in the book that a student told his guru dude "why are all the other students getting siddis while i can't" the guru dude said "that means your doing well." (paraphrased lol) basically, your going to get lost if you want some sort of superpower to feel more powerful. This is classic example of Maya seduction at its finest, disguised as spiritual success. You have Ennio Nimmis kriya book pdf for free online, just google it. You can also look at the JC Stevens one.
  10. @luckieluuke i am mere beginner so take my advice with caution I wouldnt go for option 3 because then you can either mess up the energy channels or make it alltogether less effective. Id would either stick full hard core with vipassana or continue to do kriya. Have you read Ennio Nimis's book? there are free pdf online and he explains all the troubles/errors and trouble shooting he went through with Kriya. In the book (as well as jc stevens) he says that doing Japa mantra for an hour a day completley transformed people's experiences, but that requires a LOT of open-mindnesses and faith to chant an indian mantra for a hour everyday. If its not up your alley, it might turn you off even more from Kriya. On the other hand, the books by SantataGamana teaches a very simplified form of kriya that you might like. Listen to your intuition, gut feeling. It has all the answers your looking for.
  11. @Paan dont rush. I would say over the course of few months. From what ive read, going to the crown chakra prematurely can cause intense headaches/bodyaches and crazy kundalini awakenings that can potentionally harm you. Im not sure how long your doing this so far, but if its few months then try.
  12. @Cosmo try mindfulness meditation. Its easier for beginners because you focus on sensations so its harder for monkey mind to arise
  13. i saw her "child prodigy" video a few year back but didnt know she made youtube videos and films. Actually, the video above kept coming up in my recommended for months (didnt know it was her) but i kept ignoring it until today. And it was today that i started reading my drawing theory books, so funny thing that it reappeared in my recs
  14. My hand was covering my mouth during the last few minutes, such a powerful story, i hope this inspires and enlightens some of you watching..
  15. I dont have any kriya facilities near me, but also i have seen firsthand before the biases such places can have. Want to keep it as simple as possible without being indoctrinated to deep in a certain thing, i think
  16. an amazing but tough/brutal technique is to dialogue exactly what you have been doing for the entire day, recording every single 10 minute interval. Then see how much time you waste. It will scare you but in a good way, and inspire to start living mindfully/consciously, devoting time to only what you want and put your whole heart and soul into each minute.
  17. @kerk i want to thank you again for sharing the website for those letters. I have been reading them all morning, its so intriguing to know first hand what Lahiri was writing to his disciples, whats good, whats bad, and to see all of the medicines he prescribed. Some of the disciples letters are funny and Lahiris replies. Its offically one week since i practiced Kriya. Q: JC steven says strictly to NOT synchronize the mental/silent Om Japa with your breathing. ANy of you guys have tips to do this. I noticed that before i mentally say Om, i inhale, and mentally say the Om as i exhale. I tried to desynchronize them today but everything became mixed up and my breathing became erratic. Also tips how how to better that laser focus on the third eye during concentration? Many many thoughts start popping out of nowhere, unstoppable. However, today, there was a moment that lasted a good 10 seconds, where as if someone turned some switch off and all the chatter just stopped and i was just left to be. It was beautiful and something in me is telling me to be patient. Note to self, i really need to get a Mala because even the simple 6 repititons i lose count of
  18. I have read the letters. Thanks for the info. From what ive understood in all those letters, he is warning about the mind wandering during pranayam, thinking about other things while not focusing. Maybe thats why The "mantra Japa" (which i assume is the Om's) is needed to focus? JC Stevens KP1 does not have the Oms, while KP2 and KP3 do. its said to do KP1 first 24 times, then KP2, then KP3 24 each. Maybe its prepatory for the higher KP's? I actually emailed JC Steven why not using the Oms in KP1. And now we wait.
  19. yes thats what i was talking about ill check it out, thanks
  20. i get what your saying but if we have no faith in Truth, doesn't it make truth much more elusive and hard to understand? I don't mean faith in the sense of religious people who just believe and dont do anything about it. I mean faith alongside meditating, inquiring who am i, yoga, whatever one does.
  21. @kerk thats cool!! i really like that he was against the whole worshiping someone thing and organizations, it just shows how ahead of his time he was. I tried researching Lahiri talking about Om Japa and KP but i couldnt find it. I wonder how much of a difference would it make? Also, I looked in the book and for KP2 and KP3 its instructed to chant OM on each chakra, basically Om Japa. where does it say that we do it separately?
