No, I mean after Julien-gate.
2011-2013 was peak mainstream RSD.

If you ever work in a top notch research centre, consultancy or think tank, you'll see that when a group of autonomous thinking individuals join together, great synergies happen and a collective mind is formed, a greater Holon so to speak. Many great insights I owe to this.
I acknowledge that collective synergy exists of course. Creative collaboration is legit. However, there is still a group-think cost that must be paid in that.
There is a collective synergy to this forum.
All of society is a collective synergy. I would be insane to deny that. But notice the cost in terms of collective stupidity and conformity.

8 minutes ago, nerdspeak said:I’m not sure. When I was hanging around, they had rich clients who would buy 4-5 bootcamps / year just for a laugh, like it was going to CrossFit. One client bought every New York bootcamp for like a year straight. Rich fanboys would like follow Jeffy around the country buying every Jeffy bootcamp.
They knew it was low value-add but was more fun than going to the Hampton or buying bottle service.
Maybe that still happens and they avoid the front-end stuff. But probably even bootcamp clients have declined in quality. I went to a free thing in 2019 and was horrified.
After RSD collapsed from Julien-gate, they found a niche in working with very rich exclusive clients. Owen discovered you can milk millionaires who suck with girls and get free money.
It would be like if I changed Actualized.org to be the spiritual guru of Hollywood celebrities and Tech Bros, charging them $10,000 per phone call and $50,000 per psychedelic retreat.

Also Jeffy, Max, Julien pre-2015 were very entertaining.
Maybe RSD makes more money now, but it has no soul.
They def make less money now. Their online media footprint was decimated after Julien-gate.
Back in 2015 their online following was epic. Today it is very niche and underground.
Yeah, I don't understand why Owen became less funny. He went from fun to cranky and overbearing. Julien-gate really shook him.

I would say the same about your new speaking style.
I can be obnoxious but nowhere as much as Owen.

1 minute ago, nerdspeak said:I wonder if it’s even a good business move. This tone screens for anxious 20-year-olds that are easily manipulated. I get that.
But he also has his old audience of 30-somethings, and many of us have money now. Maybe we’ve outgrown him, but if he talked like a human being we’d occasionally engage and buy stuff, and he wouldn’t have to chase new leads constantly.
He earns more from new customers than old ones. The old ones are too saavy.
Gotta milk the rubes.

There will be a pitcher of mysterious Kool-Aid

He doesn't need to say anything that gets him canceled.

I thought about that this week. How the fuck did Ramana or some of these guys in Himalayan caves got food? You can only fast for so long.
And I dont picture this guys hunting some damn rabbits.
Ramana was tended to by orbiters and groupies.
Nisargadatta sold cigarettes.
Most monks are not actually alone, they are part of a monastary where they work like dogs cleaning toilets and such. The monastary is usually financially supported by some political ruler or oligarch.
A monk living in a cave is virtually not a thing because it is nearly impossible to survive that way for long.

I can't listen to Owen any more for this reason. The speaking is too obnoxious. Like he is speaking to morons whose ears don't work. It is unpleasant. His old style was far better.

That's why traditionally monks grovel for food.
Probably suck dick for food too.
People don't appreciate the realities of being a monk.
There's no free lunch.

Just now, Inliytened1 said:Yes of course set it up. You better get me some alien consciousness though 😀
You willing to smoke dope?

@Inliytened1 You want to come to the retreat?

It's very simple: think autonomously.
Either you will or you won't.
If you won't then you have learned nothing from me.

We talk about collective issues as important. That's what Conscious Politics is.

Full monk mode is nearly impossible these days due to internet.
If you have a business you can't be in full monk mode.

22 minutes ago, koops said:This what I don't understand. If there is no phenomenology,
I didn't say no phenomenology.
Yes to phenomena, no to a body or finite self or "a life".
You don't need to be in a human body to be conscious, experiencing, thinking.
QuoteYes, but in a more practical sense, my ''perception'' will stop if I die now.
Human perception will stop. But other perception could start.
QuoteSo even if we call it Pure Consciousness, are we really conscious of something? Like, if we are Nothing, without adapting a human form (or other form) are we conscious of what?
You could be conscious of the totality of God. Or various parts of it.
You could enter all kinds of interesting disembodied dream states, similar to when you dream during sleep. That is a taste of what is possible.

2 hours ago, Zen LaCroix said:Why will they regret it?
Also many women regret dating a guy years later after they've evolved and changed looking back in hindsight.
Because he is just using them for sex.

I don't know what that means.

@Inliytened1 I don't exclude meditation, but it is not the focus on this retreat since we will be short on time anyway and it won't be necessary.
If people want to learn meditation there are much better teachers of it than me. My speciality is in teaching understanding.

12 minutes ago, koops said:That sounds like reincarnation, or are you talking about something different?
Yes, reincarnation. Or even just kinds of God-consciousness without incarnation. Incaration is not necessary for Consciousness. There can be states of Consciousness which have no body, no self, no life.
QuoteIs that what you mean when you say death is not real?
Yes and no.
There are multiple ways in which death is not real.
1) Death is not real because you are Consciousness and Consciousness is Absolute and never dies. Consciousness is all there is.
2) Death is not real because NOW always exists and you are NOW.
3) Death is not real because death is imagined by Consciousness.
4) Death is not real because you can keep reincarnating forever as anything you want.
5) Death is not real because the human self is imaginary and not real, so there is no one to die, just an idea/illusion "dies".

42 minutes ago, Inliytened1 said:@Leo Gura if you are going to do a retreat you should teach meditation and self inquiry. And waking up from the dream. Remember the dream episode? Just like you did in the beginning when you went on all those retreats yourself. When you came back and understood What is Perception. What is Truth. What is God. What is Consciousness. What is Inifnity. And what is self. And the implications of Oneness. Your final video on what is other was hidden. But that is what you should be teaching.
All those retreats were bad. Which is why I want to design my own.
I will not teach meditation but all the facets of God/Consciousness will be taught.

You are so young. Of course it is normal for you to have all these doubts. At 26 you don't really know yourself. It takes until about 35-40 to really fully come to know yourself, your values, your dealbreakers, your personality.
More life experience is the best way to come to know yourself. Sometimes you gotta just err on the side of doing something rather than nothing. Mistakes are a big part of how you learn your values.
If you want kids, finding a partner who also wants kids is pretty important. Compromising on that probably won't work.
Do not be envious of fools who make confident life decisions in their 20s. That confidence is mostly fake and their lives are not as complex as yours because they are just doing conformity, not serious self-actualization like you. It is easy to confidently and mindlessly have kids with the wrong person. That is not something to envy.
