  1. Nice quote. Yes. Whitehead was the kind of scientific mind which is rarely seen these days. His later works are quite good. He understood the ignorance of positivism, materialism, and reductionism. It's like modern scientists are going through an idiocracy phase.
  2. You don't need thought for action. A thought is as real as a rock. But a thought of a rock is not a rock.
  3. No contradiction. Just the usual nondual jibber-jabber. You can slice the same cake a hundred ways.
  4. It doesn't. It just makes you aware that you are inside a hallucination whereas previously you weren't. It makes you aware of the full ramifications of your own logic, because right now you still aren't.
  5. Teens in native tribal cultures do psychedelics all the time, and have been doing it for over 5000 years. Case closed. What's really damaging is all the TV you watch, all the video games you play, and all the garbage junk food you eat. Why ain't you worried about that?
  6. @SageModeAustin According to your logic, every thought you ever had in your life is just a chemical in a brain. So by your own thought process, your entire thought process is contingent on an arbitrary soup of chemicals. According to you, all human knowledge is a hallucination. And you are right. But if you are right, that means the brain, chemicals, the body, the universe, and science are also hallucinations. It even means that you being right is also a hallucination. So what now? Anything you think or do is a hallucination (according to you).
  7. @legendary Son, you'd to be lucky to handle 300ug of LSD. It's gonna kick your ass.
  8. @Recursoinominado That is a glimpse of who you can become by doing this work. So roll up them sleeves.
  9. @Barry J How about doing something positive for mankind with your life?
  10. @see_on_see Not really changed my mind, it's just a consequence of being THE ALL. The All is all things at all times. So there is no one you will not be.
  11. @Outer Your smartassery is only hurting yourself.
  12. To some degree, but not 100%. Depends a lot on your particular situation and what caused the cancer. If your body is full of toxic chemicals you may be screwed. You were never told to physically harm yourself. Stop being foolish. Enlightenment is a purely awareness-based pursuit.
  13. @Barry J What is up with these false dichotomies? Both!
  14. @Barry J I don't need to lose it. Enlightenment is naturally coming. The nondual awareness is creeping into me every day, bit by bit. Won't take too long now.
  15. @Barry J Yes, which is why I take the time to write out thoughtful and clever analogies.
  16. @Barry J Nope, I sleep just fine. It's JP who has sleeping problems: My fave JP quote: "...an overwhelming sense of impending doom." "You lay in bed frozen in something approximating terror for eight hours and then you get up." LOL! That about sums up his reactionary political philosophy.
  17. @Serotoninluv What is sane? What is insane? What is the difference? Up to you. I would try to stay out of jail. But if got there, then I would meditate and do yoga. It is what it is. Who's to say what is "weird"? It is what it is. Truth does not care how helpful you feel it is. After all, what you call helpful is nothing more than that which saves your imaginary hide.
  18. @kieranperez No, it was near Pine, Arizona. Flagstaff is too cold.
  19. That's quite tricky. You're basically talking about camping skills. Go camping a few times without any retreat or meditation and just learn how to camp. You'll need to stock up in quite a bit of supplies. Dealing with the heat, rain, and cold will be tricky. Snakes, bugs, cougars, and bears can be tricky too. Many places in CA will require camping permits and camp ground reservations. But it could be a really great growing experience if you manage to figure out all those logistics. You'll want a first-aid kit, GPS, and some kind of weapon against creatures. Suvivorman: Yogi Edition
  20. @CreamCat Wear your socialist badge proudly, comrade. Don't let JP shame you into a closet socialist
  21. @CreamCat So you're a communist SJW then
  22. You say that cause you're in a position of superiority. A bit of inequality will help educate you
