  1. This whole situation is a pointless red herring. It will solve nothing. I don't even want to waste my mental energy thinking about this tempest in a teapot.
  2. If you are cheering on the Redditors, then you think they are doing something good against the elites who do something wrong. Don't play word games with me.
  3. I said "skirting laws and rules". Don't act like some lawyer here. Your issues with Wall Street not primarily legal ones.
  4. I think they'll most likely just crack down on Reddit.
  5. The idea that some Reddit punks are gonna lead to systemic Wall Street regulation reform is rather silly. The problems with Wall Street are way too big for that. This can only be done with serious Congressional legislation -- for which there is no will. These Redditors might even end up gaining sympathy for those billionaires from the SEC.
  6. Your thinking that hedge funds managers are wrong is also relative. Shorting stock is also not a crime. Being a billionaire is also not a crime. Your complaints are that shady stuff is done by rich people which is not technically a crime, but ought to be. Well, this is a two-way street with Reddit.
  7. @Vision Are you sure you want to know?? Well, then, if you dare: "What are all the ways I'm lying to myself?"
  8. The very thing you complain about: people on Wall Street skirting laws and rules -- is what your Redditors are doing. Both are exploiting loopholes and such and acting like dicks.
  9. No government cares about bailing out one hedge fund. But the SEC will certainly care about new market manipulation schemes via social media because it potentially threatens the large market system. The SEC went after Elon Musk just for one of his tweets! Certainly they will keep a close eye on these Redditors.
  10. If you put a baby in a box and give it plenty of food and water, it will still die from lack of love. These experiments were done.
  11. Abso-fucking-lutely. You should know these places like the back of your hand. You need to scout out the best places. I'm talking about first date. After that it doesn't matter much.
  12. I used the term loosely. Replace "crime" with "wrong".
  13. They are both engaged in manipulation. Neither is shorting stock a crime. So what you complaining about? If it was up to me I would outlaw shorting period.
  14. Fine, but don't come here crying when the demon you unleashed bite you in the ass. Ditto
  15. How did those people meet? At a drunk party. Why did they meet? Cause they were horny. Why did they form a relationship? Because they were addicted to fucking each other.
  16. It's worse than that. Most babies are just accidents of horny drunk people. Without alcohol the world's population would be 10% of what it is today
  17. Oh, ho-ho! No way Rupblicans will go for that. This would nearly kill their ability to hold power.
  18. One crime does not justify another. Vigilante mob justice by buffoons quickly backfires and becomes injustice. Indeed, let's shut down hedge fund manipulations.
  19. A) Girls are naturally flaky and detached until sex. This is their advantage in the game. The advantage is quickly lost after sex. B) Find more girls, not all of them will be passionate about you.
  20. That's more of a spiritual drive for truth or a seeking to escape suffering. I have always had high ambition. Since I was a little kid. I didn't choose it, it chose me. For me it comes from a place of deep Love, but it is clouded by egoic impurities, fears, bad habits, biases, weaknesses, etc. I care about having an impact because I want my life to be meaningful, and that is done by making the world a better place. I enjoy being highly creative. It's a spiritual enjoyment.
  21. Of course manipulation of markets is going to be regulated. It always has been because markets cannot survive otherwise. The desire to see markets go unregulated so that they can be manipulated by peasant buffoons as vengeance against Wall Street capitalists is not wise. It will backfire on society. Those same mechanisms will get hijacked by Wall Street execs very shortly. As tempting as it is, treating Wall Street as some evil or devil will not solve our problems. It's just more of the same culture war stuff that has us chasing our tails. Don't forget, your grandma has her retirement savings on Wall Street. And the ones who will end up fucked in this game are not the execs but the peasants. All forms of market manipulation must be cracked down on, be it peasant or elite.
  22. Deleting all social media is not a solution to these problems. You might as well literally stick your head in the sand while you're at it.
