Is the goal in life to die before you die?

It feels like that when I have an ego death experience I die and then I come back to reality. But when I actually die It's like I know where I'm going I've been here before.

Am I supposed to die before I actually die? Is this the goal in this dream/life? What value can this give to us?

The ego doesn't actually die, since it isn't real. It's just a mask worn by the absolute, which it mistakes for itself. Awakening is temporarily removing the mask, and enlightenment is tossing the mask off the stage.
