Introduction to Human Psyche

Hello everybody,

I want to get an introduction to human psyche model through a book. Freud's Id superego ego model is a popular one along with Jungs model of psyche. I want to  have a solid ground on how a psyche operates so I think I need to know about the parts of that system to a degree. What would be a good start?

3. the principles of psychology by William James
4. man and his symbols by carl jung
