Sri Anandamayi Ma

Perform action with good intent. Try to rise up stepwise through actions. Hold on to Him in all work, then nothing has to be left aside. The quest for the Lord of the goal will also be easy. Your work will also be completed perfectly. Whenever you do any work, do it with your mind, body and speech, simply and with contentment. Then perfection in action will be there. In due time the dry leaves will fall off automatically and new leaves will appear - MA.

Where there is the continuum of pure thought, there definitely is a path to the diminution of karmas. As long as the goal is not attained, the fruit of action, non-action and wrong action has to be experienced - MA.

Each one of you in accordance with your own particular line of approach, must seize the time, the moment that will reveal to you the eternal relationship by which you are united to the Infinite: this is the revelation of Supreme Union.

Supreme Union means the whole universe is within you and you are in it, and moreover there will be no more occasion to speak of a universe, for it will then no longer exist. Whether you say it exists or does not exist, or that it is beyond both existence and non-existence, or even beyond that

- as you please: the important thing is that it should become revealed, be it in whatever form.

Having found that "Moment",

at that point of time - when it is found

- you will know your Self.

To know your Self would imply the revelation at that very same instant of what your father and mother - and the entire universe - in reality are. It is that Moment, which links up the whole of creation.

For to know yourself does not mean to know your body only, it Signifies the full revelation of That which eternally Is

- the Supreme Father, Mother, Beloved, Lord and Master

- the Self.

- Ma Anandamayi.

Excerpt from the Dailogue and Discourse with Ma Anandamayi. Richard Lannoy.

Everything is His, entirely His.

What did you bring with you at birth?

Were you not empty-handed?

And all you have acquired — is it yours, really?

All is His and whatever happens is His Will.

Endeavour to maintain this attitude.

Saying: ‘It is mine’ you grasp at everything— this is the way to court sorrow.

Call out to Him because all is His.

To yearn thus for Him is real prayer.

All that the world can yield — what is its worth?

Have you not discerned down the years the inevitable course of events?

In His store-house, where there are riches, relations, the vigour of youth, there are also old age, death, disease and poverty. You will have to experience them all. In this world there is no room for undisturbed ease; don’t you see that there is distress at every step? Does it not dawn on you even now to whom you belong?

This serious illness of yours, is anyone suffering it for you? Can anyone even share it?

Why all these worries?

All is His; all is He ; to leave everything to Him must be your sole endeavour. Invoke His Name, meditate on Him; ever abide in the remembrance of Him.

Not praying for anything that is of this world, strive to abandon yourself without reserve to Him. In Him no want of any kind exists, no pain, no agony — in Him is all attainment, the summit of fulfillment, rest, repose, tranquility.

If one is in the state of infinity or stuck in an avatars body that can give you any physical shape, then how is one reborn?

Anandamayee Ma Ceases to Feed Herself

One evening, in 1924, Anandamayee Ma said, “I am not going to eat food with my own hand any longer.”

Fearing she would die, from that day on she was always fed by her disciples. They had to put food into her mouth. This went on until she left the body in 1982.

Divine mercy is beyond comprehension yet the longing for it still persists– this also is God's grace. Good and honest desire leads to end of desire. Verily, man does not know when His light will be there as the result of constant engagement in honest action with true and pious wish. That is why until illumination takes place, engagement in the journey towards the ultimate goal should continue willfully or reluctantly –MA.

God Himself is indeed everywhere.

The entire world is His form.

Whatever you may behold, it is all God’s own form. Bow down to everyone.

All shapes, all movement and all rest are contained within Him.

In the field of His play, He and none but He is present in every form.

Try to see God in every shape and in every mode of being.

Man receives according to his desire.

Is peace possible in the domain of want?
Ever new desires will arise.
Sense objects that only generate poison,
never give real peace.

Caught in the round of coming and going,
can one be at peace?
As long as there are two,
there will be sorrow.
Duality breeds conflict, pain.
Sorrow arises from want.

So long as you are not established in your true being you cannot possibly beat peace.

A gentleman said: Ma, the mind is very restless.

Ma said: "Just as restlessness is its nature, so also is stability. The mind wants its mother - that is Complete Bliss
Therefore, do you not observe that though the worldly person offers its innumerable enjoyments, it is not satiated and runs hungry and thirsty.
Restlessness will never cease, it is restless for God. Until it gets God, it cannot find peace. As soon as the mind finds Him, it becomes calm."

The gentleman remarked, "I have never heard such a viewpoint before, today I have learnt a great lesson."
Ma joined her palms and said: "You have given the lesson."

The gentleman did pranam to Ma and took leave.

Truth itself protects truth. For those who speak the truth and live in an atmosphere of truth, God Himself is the protector.

solitude.jpg

Without solitude God cannot be found. Those who are striving to attain to the Supreme Being by meditation in silence and freedom from ties will find the Himalayas a most congenial abode.

Braced by the grandeur and magnificence of nature, enveloped in its stillness, it becomes easy to contemplate Infinity, one spontaneously dives into the depths of the Self.

Those, on the other hand, who are devotionally inclined will prefer to stay by the seashore. Inspired by the music of the rolling waves, ecstatic emotion surges up high, until engulfed in the boundless love of the Lord of Love, one is carried away straight to one's Goal.

For those who have no special line, but are eager to be wayfarers on the path to God-Realizaiton, any beautiful, secluded spot will be suitable.

Householders should set apart a corner in their homes kept sacred as a shrine for divine contemplation.

But for one who has forsaken everything for the love of God, who everywhere sees God alone, all places are equally good.

Endeavor to control your rambling thoughts and rise above the changing circumstances of life; then the problem of having to select a suitable site for your 'sadhana' will cease to exist.
