The heart awakening is itself the answer to the question. Smell is a very unique perception, and people intuitively “smell” in a spiritual sense, wether they cognitively know it or not doesn’t really matter, relative to your question. I think that is your concern, unless you’re on the path, looking to awaken the heart. Then it’s a pointer from the universe.
