Unhealthy Attachment in a Relationship

5 posts in this topic

I've been dating someone for less than 3 months and they're developing an unhealthy attachment to me.  She has mental health issues, so I don't think it's good for her.  The relationship is going well, I'd just like for her to be a bit less intense and be ok when I'm not around.  Not sure how to help with that or how to prevent things from getting more out of control

Try to explain this to her, maybe she isn't conscious enough to realise that..

I'd recommend trying to tell her what you are telling us. So, try to say, can we speak about something? Then say, I feel the relationship is going well, but I'd like for you to be a little less intense and ok when I am not around. If she asks what you mean then say, I think you are developing an unhealthy attachment to me and I do not think it is good for you. And say to her that you don't know how to help with mental issues or how to prevent things going out of control.

You should bring it up to her. But you should half-expect at least a slight egoic reaction, if she's the kind of girl I think she is.

Don't give your power away to someone who is unstable mentally and immature(spiritually) They will destroy you. I fell down this path, took me years to heal and recover. Its very challenging but one has to learn to master how to be more involved in life but completely detached from it.

This is your mantra, fall in love with life but do not become attached to the people/things in life as they cause and effect of your "love" or they will have power over you and well.. You don't want that.

Stay wise, stay aware :)
