Two months of Yoga

11 posts in this topic

So i have been going to yoga classes for past 2 months,(Mon-fri) and skipped many classes. class consist of mainly loosening exercises and some asanas (10 asanas) mostly.

During asanas some of old memories comes up both good and bad, looking at it mindfully without it dissapears i think its removing past karma.

Sexual thoughts decreased, need of sex decreased. No of masturbation decreased. (When doing no fap there is a kind of neurosis or some kind of i shouldnt fap like thing happening in mind but here there is nothing like that). One night i even had energy release of needinees of sex from my system and other night i was laughing at my own needinees for sex.

I also think contemplating is also becoming little more easier. Like insights coming easily.

Sad part is my meditation sittings have decreased. But i make it up with being mindful when doing asanas.

I think yoga will help people who ask about how to overcome needinees for sex, remove sexual thoughts, porn addiction and overall be healthy.

@Harikrishnan I totally relate to what you reported about sexual urges. Hatha Yoga is seriously legit.

@Harikrishnan Good work on consistently showing up!

Did you find the asanas hard initially? Have you found that you have gotten remarkably stronger or more flexible?

Interesting how it has lead to lower sex drive! Maybe your sex habits were linked to uncomfortably in your body?

@Knock it depends. Some asanas where easy but asanas like Bhadrasana is hard even now while doing that asana my leg still dosent touch ground.(its a great asana) Dhanurasana was hard first but now its easy same with halasana.

Sorry, that was poor English.

Sometimes emotional/mental problems have a physical origin from your body. For example, my bad posture contributed to feeling uptight all the time. When I worked on my posture, those emotions went away.

Maybe your sex drive could be the same?

@KnockYeah i also think so, those all asanas stimulating lower portion of the body might have done the trick. B/w what u said  emotional/mental problems have a physical origin from your body. Can u direct me to some books on this topic i have leo's booklist if his boollist contains this book then can u tell under which category and number, or else book name.

Very interesting. A lot of people have told me that their sadhana decreased their sex drive.

However, for me, it has increased mine and made sex feel more pleasurable. Not going to complain about that.

Both are different. Its like being horny all the time vs enjoying the sex when it happens. To explain little more i didnt get sex that often and i wanted it all the time like was desperate to have sex even when i was having decent meditation but now with yoga am not having much sex thoughts and neediness. and maybe as knock pointed out i was uncomfortable with my body and that created it and with yoga i was able to clear it.

I guess the practice could bring us more to balance/middle path. Although there are many yogis and sannyasins who want to permanently kill out their want for sex.

But for someone who isn't trying to kill it out completely, I can still see the help of reducing the drive.... Ironically, wanting sex too much can push potential sex partners away, reducing the opportunities of getting to have sex.

That's very cool you cleared the discomfort with your body and sex giving birth to your body. Sadhguru spoke of this a numerous times.
