and yet, at the same time, memory is all over reality. every instant is filled with the eternal past.

Spot on. All of reality is a just memory, nothing more. Except a memory is not the past; the past is a memory. A memory is just a sensation of familiarity. And in turn, that sensation is just a belief.

We believe we exist, because it feels/seems familiar.

@How to be wise

Great thread ?

To me, the past is 99% destroyed. I have almost zero identification with the past, but at the same time, I always learn from it, and I couldn't be happier.

@How to be wise Ever had the experience where you totally knew something, knew about it, knew what it was & how it worked...and then later in life, a complete flip,  a total revelation?

Yes.

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie

@How to be wise And realized that, had you not been so “right”, you could’ve had that realization much sooner on in the path? (This is intentially aimed at triggering the ego)
