Impractical Answers: Sincere attempt at helping or ego mastrubation

Imagine a sincere practicioneer who has asked a question about x on the forum. Let's imagine what answers he would be likely to get:

- X does not exist

- X is an ideology/belief/concept/illusion

- You are X

- X is God

- You are God (Holy non-dual trinity) 

- Who is it that asks about X

- Unhelpful analogy - Example: How many legs does the ant have if you are in the kitchen? 

+ I'm sorry I don't understand. 

- You are not supposed to, there is no meaning. Enlightenment just is. 

+ But that wasn't what I asked about. 

- (Damn I'm so deep) 

Now let us consider the reasons of this behavior: 

- The person wants to be useful but for reasons he is unable to: Noble intention

- The person wants to be not understandable on purpose so inside he can think he is above/more advanced (Stage teal/coral/turqoise/mammamia, enlightened, has attained buddhahood) and the person he is answering to is not as advanced as he is (filthy orange/green, not enlightened, not as "deep" ) : Egocentric intention

Last topic i wanna touch on: My enlightenment/insight/trip/(dick) is more profound/intense/valuable/valid/deeper/(bigger) than yours. I think if your "enlightenment" is really that deep and for some reason you concluded the other person must know about this, you would also be aware of better /more masterful ways to express it (hint: insulting/belittling/my dick is bigger than your dick language isn't one of them) 

Conclusion: Please always ask yourself why you are saying what you are about to say and be honest, thank you. Sincere helpers, who i know are also plenty, please keep doing what you do. We like you

@Amun i see what you're saying and that's a very interesting point.

humility of heart is the best indicator of integration of enlightenment and the persona. that's why some people are called masters... they don't see themselves as being above anyone else. they're just more experienced with the nuances of various sorts of sufferings thus they're actually able to feel compassion.

Because an "enlightened" human who is cocky contradicts himself while a barking dog does not.

Valid topic! It's really easy to dish out those sorts of replies.

It's worth taking a good look at our own motivation for the words we choose IRL and on this forum. Look out for:

• regurgitation
• trying to appear in a particular way
• giving advice that the recipient isn't ready for

Of course nothing's inherently bad about saying these sorts of things. It's just more of the same game we humans are always playing.
