Isn´t It Useless To Read All These Books When You Don´t Remember What You´ve Learn?

5 posts in this topic

First step for making your life better is to learn new skills and information. But I think, the same importance should we pay to actually remember pieces of information we just learned.
There is one concept which is called: Active recall.

Basically it says, the best way to learn to exam, or just for yourself to remember what that great book you just read was about, is to simply review it by acting as you would lecture a class of students.

So after you learned something new, try to explain it to a "class of students".
When you do it, then you truly understand the concept and you will never forget it.

What do you think about this concept?  What other concepts do you use?

If one wants to stick on Egoic side of awakening, reading is a must, otherwise is little advance. On the other side, those who have fully awakened, don't need to read as much on almost nothing about self development, just info for pleasure in any niche.

@DayProv Yes. Use what’s learned to help someone. Everybody wins. Also try not learning at all, and repeating the same things everyday. This way you’ll know the difference for yourself, from direct experience.

It goes back to the famous quote: "You keep what you give." Reading something makes it 10% sticky but teaching it makes it 80-90% sticky.

What would help with this is to take notes on what you read, start a YouTube channel where you recap what you've learned, or start a blog where you summarize what you've learned.
