Humanity - We will never learn, will we?

39 posts in this topic

Those old greek philosophers, what's not to Love about them? Socrates, Platon, Aristoteles, such brilliant minds, such stringent reasoning, such coherent thoughts.

Those guys truly loved wisdom. Lovers of peace and knowledge, lovers of love itself!

With those ideas spread to the world, war and close minded authority will for ever be a thing of the past - one thought..

Then middle age happened, religious suppression, war, toxic authority happened.

Then the age of enlightenment came about! Voltaire, Rosseu, Montesque stod up for human dignity again. Respect for human values. Romantic era followed. Classical music with all its subtle uplifting message for the human soul happened. Mozart, Beethoven. This time humans will finally live in peace and harmony - one thought..

Then communism happened, more toxic ideology happened, marxism, along with toxic nationalism, rise of anti semitism, two world wars. Power struggles all over the globe.

Then the human potential was discovered again. Everything was possible. Expeditions to Venus and mars happened. Humans landed on the moon. Love was in the air. Sing/song writer era happened. Beautiful songs of Bob Dylan(Nobel price winner), Niel Young, Morrison, Beatles, Joplin came about. Flower power and hippie movement happened along with healthy family values.

Then post modernism happened, globalism came about. Fall of culture. Ugliness in architecture, art, music. Decadens happened. The whole of Western civilisation started to show signs of coming to an end.

And here we find ourselves. Humans never learn, or do we?

Isn't it so, yes or no?

What is the root of all such issues?

Movement of thought/self aka ego?

Identification with a story(thought story).

It creates the illusion of separateness.

It's sad, indeed.

Its a good thing to not look at humanity befor one can see himself clearly.

There is nothing wrong with humanity, there has never been, its all a big play or whatever you want to label it. Try to look at it like a intricate work of art.

Indeed

The individual is humanity.

Dividion only takes place because thought/self makes that separation.

Really individuality is an illusion.

Is it fear seeking psychological security?

Do wenseenthat seeking psychological security makes for psychological and physical insecurity personal and collective?

Since you are a Swede I understand your need for sarcasm ;)

I had very much love in my heart when I wrote that. It helps you stop focusing on things that doesnt help you :)

I’m not sure what his intent was. Never the less, to change ourself “individual selves” is to change the whole of mankind.

We don’t start outward. We work with the inward.

There is no division actually, only thought divides.

Thanks Colin! Yeah, it came from my heart! It was pure.

But other posts I made might be nonsense. I mix it up pretty well.

I'm the kind of guy who are serious only now and Then. ?

Is that an illusion?

@Faceless The illusion would be to label reality as faulty. Reality is reality. If you dont prefer certain parts of it then thats fine, but if you take it too seriously you will suffer. :)

@MarkusSweden Dont watch too much Stefan Molyneux okay? Society is fine?

Ah I see

im talking about the more subtle form of illusion. Seeking security in that idea.

You see what I mean?

@Faceless Oh no, I was just implying that you shouldnt wallow in your thought-stories about how the world is. There is no security in reality. Your body can die right this moment.
