Is being radically open minded really possible?

5 posts in this topic

One of the values of getting older is 'experience'. Because this experience can also be a source of closed mindedness. You assume you know.

But how does one balance that trust of being reasonably certain about something vs being open minded to being wrong?

How deep do you sit on a stance or are you always in the prone position of being open-minded to challenge your own assumptions?

It happens on a deeper level. It will become more and more automatic with higher awareness, and you don't need to question yourself constantly to be open-minded anymore. You don't have to live in a place where you're actively doubting things with thoughts in your mind. You see it as a more meta-perspective of you don't know, and then you can try to dig for your underlying assumptions and learn which ones your mind normally develops from books etc.

The less you argue with people the easier it becomes to start clearing up the way you see things.

@TriteNTrue you’d have to be radically open minded so you can lose your mind.   learning, learning, learning....what the FUCK?!!! The whole thing and “me” are illusion?!?!...being, being, being....

You're never certain about anything, this is impossible.
It's the fact that you think something is certain that it makes you suffer.
You don't need to be certain of anything to do anything, this is a lie.

If you're really open-minded, you never take any assumptions for truth, even the things that appears to be 100% factual.
